BTCC 2018 - Brands Hatch GP - Rounds 28, 29, 30
Final round of the year. Last year's results -
PP - Goff R1 - Moffat R2 - Turkington R3 - Austin Turkington goes in with a 34 point lead over Ingram. Realistically, Colin will need a DNF or a third strike for Tom to take it, which, given this season's track record, looks unlikely. Ricky Collard will be back, so unfortunately I think we've seen the last of Rob as a BTCC driver. |

Hopefully Turks can do it in what is arguably not the fastest car on the grid, for that reason I think this will be his sweetest title yet (if he can do it).

The BMW has certainly been hobbled by TOCA tinkering; it's clearly been slower, Colin has managed to consistently score solid finishes regardless: barring a rare mistake it has his name on it. Hoping WSR has next years sponsorship in place!!!

I wonder if we might be also saying bye to Jason Plato after this weekend?

I think he'll be fine. I don't think there's a driver on the grid who wouldn't get their arse kicked by Ash in the same car.

Usual rip off by MSV charging an extra £10 to use South Bank parking. I'd be one of the first to commend JP for the circuit updates having been a regular for more years than I care to remember but the price hike for parking is exploitation.

Nice to go into the weekend without any changes of driver for the AMD/Hard "rent-a-drives" at the back

Ricky to continue in place of Rob this weekend, not that it was in much doubt.

Will be there both days as usual and yes i got the msv email telling me that they want an extra £5 for south bank parking Saturday and £10 for Sunday. That means they will be taking almost £60 from me with the programme for this race, getting expensive.

I agree. £10 is certainly worth it to be able to have the comfort and convenience to sit with or in your car and have everything at hand and safe all day

I'm sorry but I think it's milking it. I've been a season ticket holder at BH for years and whilst I too will cough up the extra tenner I really do think it's pretty extortionate. The BSB meeting is only £5 so why the need to hit the touring car meeting?

Anyway... I’ve got my fingers crossed for Tom. I think it’ll all be over by the first few laps of race one though, sadly. |

Brands Hatch is expensive to attend, more so than Silverstone.
It’s not just entry and parking, it’s charging for set seats in each grandstand separately. Silverstone has roving open grandstands included in the entry price. The BTCC also gets very busy and trying to leave after the last race on Sun is a nightmare. I now only go on the Sat - cheaper, much less crowded and more on-track time. But then my main reason for attending is photography - the races themselves I prefer to watch on TV! |

Think it will take a DNF from Turks to get Tingram back in, but that is possible!! Ride height at Knockhill has had a lasting effect...plus some other events..

Tingram has got a chance, certainly more than Sonic. He just needs a bit of luck and he's in the pound seats.
BTW, does anyone know how the championship would look if Snetterton R3 had been normal points? |

Long shot, but I've just seen the name 'Jackson' in the Carrera Cup pro runners. Not Mat, is it?
