Lost the #75 Mercedes permanently it appears.
https://sportscar365.com/imsa/iwsc/s...ent-from-ctmp/ CORE sweeping first place in both Prototype and GTLM in practice 1. #38 Oreca 07 crashes. So will they make the grid? Also interesting to note that the are 2 separate practice sessions on Friday afternoon. 1 hour for Prototype and GTLM only. GTD gets the track to themselves in hour 2. A good idea I think. However I wonder why GTLM was put with the P's and not GTD. |

Looks like the bop is off again in prototype. That or Braun has their Oreca really hooked up. But they're near a second faster, not just from practice 1 but currently in practice 2 although early.

There's a certain Ten Tenths member who has been involved with COREs recent performance jump.

Things looking more equal now. Top two Oreca and Acura (Oreca) on 1:06.9

I'm interested to see what BMW puts together tomorrow. The changes might not show up at Mosport because the car is over 16 feet long, but they aren't showing their hand yet.
IMSA posted the 2000 Mosport race. It's pretty cool to see those old cars and names again, though the race is a bit of a ****show. |

How on earth did ESM manage to go through 3 engines last week?

Well, obviously last week's Core performance was a fluke ... and this week is a fluke rerun.

Hilarious .... Braun eases off to cool the tires, sees Van der Zande in the #10 closing in .. and just drives away.

Missed qualifying, but looks pretty close up front at least for the top 2.

I managed to catch the last 10 seconds of qualifying, Braun is in top form in the Protos, but really impressed with Hawksworth's time in the Lexus. He had a second over Parente in the Acura in 6th place and half a second over his teammate in 2nd place!

3 tenths between the top 2, that's fine really. Wonder what's going on with AXR. A second off of WTR.

The Lexus have come on strong lately, wonder what's changed at 3GT? About time they were competitive like the other RC F's running in other series.

I wonder if the move to a pay driver actually helped. Maybe DHH is providing some good amount of funding? The car certainly seems to be more solid now.

Mosport may play into the car's strengths too. It likes the high speed stuff and has good downforce in those types of turns. Farnbacher mentioned that on the fox feed last weekend at Watkins Glen.

I wonder if the engine likes being kept in the high revs, like the LMP2 engine. These sort of tracks (Mosport and Watkins Glen) let the drivers keep the car in the power band, negating the lack of torque the LMP2 has compared to other cars. I wonder if the Lexus engine is particularly strong at the top end, but lacks a little torque in the low end, thus does well at the last two tracks.

I wonder if they are getting some help from Emil Frey. A Lexus in 3GT livery was testing at Paul Ricard before the Blancpain event.

This race is being shown on delay here in the US. I'm not sure if I'm going to try to follow it live or wait for the tv broadcast. I hate it when this type of delay occurs.
