I know its still early days yet............
......but do you think that the new rules could be the downfall of Ferrari?
Its now round 3 and Ferrari have been less than impressive. Yes I know they still have yet to use the new car, but you have to admit that the new rules seem to not be "helping" Ferrari in any way. |

Well they set the 1-2 fastest laps in Sepang, so they still are very much the fastest, but yes, they seem to have become a bit sloppy lately.

I keep thinking that they really have just made a bunch of small mistakes and any moment now they will be totally dominant again.I would be amazed if they keep having problems-but it IS a nice change

It is a lot harder to dominate if you're not qualifying on the front row constantly but i won't be writing off Ferrari just yet although i'll enjoy the fact that we're getting some variety on the podium while it lasts.

Just remember that the first 3 races of 2002 were good, but the season went downhill big-time from Imola onwards. History could repeat itself.

Yes - Albert Park, Interlagos and Sepang generally produce good racing. Albert Park because it's the first race, the other two because they are the easiest tracks to pass one.
Wait until the boredom of Barcelona and Imola... |

Montezemolo and Mosley have agreed in November that Ferrari will use just 8 cylinders in the first three races (and Max&Bernie have agreed to let Jaguar and Renault use their big 12 cylinder road car engines). It is all rules to spice up the show. In Imola we will see.

The downfall of Ferarri? I don't think so. Will they bounce back? More then likely. The rules were introduced so that we wouldn't get a repeat of the cake walk that was last year. More to do with bringing the field closer together then the downfall of one team. Personally before the season started I thought Michael would win regardless of the rules.

They won't have it easy this year, I think it's no longer possibel for any team to dominate the championship. If these rules had been in palce last eyr, it would've been much closer. I'm loving it.

Yes have to agree while it is nice to see other drivers and cars up the front I think that Ferrari's problems are that the rest of the field has moved up and done their homework and this has caught Ferrari out a little.

Great to see that Senna's pole position record will stand forever - no way Schumeister can match that tally with these new rules.
The season sure has come alive now that the pole positions are being spread around the teams! Last edited by MiniMe; 6 Apr 2003 at 15:43. |

OK, there's a proverb that says that morning is the sign of how the day will be...I guess that's enough.
