arrows, monza speed, secret!

if u take a close look at the nose of the arrows u will see
that ther are two triangle flaps at the two ends of the nose making the nose wider (but not thicker), that mite have to do with the briliant performence they gave in monza today.

Verstappen was testing new spec 2001 bridgestones, which are going to be faster. Darren Manning was using a qualifying spec Honda V10, which probably means low fuel as well. Pedro Diniz was running on fumes . What about Luca Badoer, Low fuel or is he just fast?

Luca Badoer is very fast, which is why he should return to Minardi for next season and why Ferrari have had him as a test driver for so long.

OK, I'll bite. Where do I get a look at hte Arrows with the triangular flaps at the sides?? By hte way, to put testing into some kind of perspective, what was the pole qualifying time lst year? I don't have that.

last years pole by hakkinen was 1m22.432sec...

last years arrows qualified with 1m26.383sec by de la rosa, both arrows qualified last last year, with de la rosa being the quicker one than takagi.

so looks like arrows have already beaten their own record!
but to challenge mclaren and ferrai, i seriously doubt it will happen

What about the changes to the circuit though, should they make the track faster or slower. I thought that it was meant to be 3-4 sec a lap slower than last year, which makes the Arrows time all the more impressive.

Correct, several seconds slower, so the A21 is probably faster around the new track then the MP4/14.

To clear up a question we have been posed several times since yesterdays test report, we believe that Jos set the 8th fastest time of the day, the time reported by other media was in fact a lap when Jos missed a chicane.

Not counting that lap, it would be:
8 Verstappen Arrows 1:27.3 42

That is truely, madly, deeply odd, at the very least!

The flaps were used in some gp's this year already, for example Hungary, Arrows are trying to get some more downforce from that because they lack real downforce
