Road Circuits - The original Nurburgring, or Nordschliefe, the road circuit against which all others are judged. In more modern times the Osterriechring (not the A1-ring!)
Street Circuit - Adelaide Open Road Circuit - Short Madonie (Targa Florio) - genuine unaltered real roads. Oval - Daytona and Indianapolis as the pinnacles of their respective types of racing. Airfield Circuits - I don't count Silverstone as it has developed from being an airfield circuit, so it has to be Sebring , the only other vaguely international airfield circuit Roval - I feel they're all very artificial but as the intention is honest, I'll nominate the Brooklands Mountain circuit as it's the granddaddy of them all. Parkland Circuits - Albert Park (if only to show I'm not stuck in a time warp) Rally - The real Safari, before they cut out Tanzania with the classic Mbulu, Pienaar's Heights, Usamburas, etc sections. Speedway - I don't know what I'm talking about so I'll say Nazereth, Pa. as it gave us Mario Andretti. |

Road Circuits: Brands full length
Street Circuit Long Beach Open Road Circuit Chimay Oval Talladega [The accident in the Busch series race there last year that eliminated about 30 cars has to have been the most violent shunt I have ever seen, and I was only watching on TV! It was also the funniest, there seemed still to be bits of debris falling out of the sky after the race restarted.] Airfield Circuits Snetterton Roval Parkland Circuits Oulton Park - although the pleasure of sweeping down through Craner Curves at Donington runs it close. Rally The old RAC, when it lasted from Sunday to Thursday and took in every part of the country and was a real test of staying power, not a glorified rallysprint. Speedway ? Can I count grass-track at Lydden? |

I dunno if you've ever noticed, but the old 1937 infield bit, half of it is gone, and i never knew the route it took, but i saw that day that there is like an avenue of trees which still line the route. So my road cicuits are exactly the same as ss said, plus Solitude. Ovals: all the same aren't they? I suppose it's have to be one of the superspeedways. Street circuits: Well Solitude and the old Brno. Airfield: Albi Parkland: Crystal Palace by a country mile, except form Monza, which is about equal |

Excellent. I went to one of those rubbish historic meetings they had, i assume (or should it be hope?) that this one'll be better. The trouble is that it's half the width it used to be, and you can't use the new link cos there's a gate across it, and you can't use the back straight, because of the National Sports Stadium, and you can't use anything thereafter up to the startline because they're access ways. That leaves you with what remains of the 30's cicuit, and North tower Cresent+The Glade...
