James Courtney's Future?
I would like to hear from anyone who has heard anything about James Courtney for next year?
I am aware that he probably will go to Formula Nippon but I thought there might be some talk between his management and maybe an F1 team... Cheers! |

formula nippon as far as rumours go - maybe in a couple of weeks time we will know for certain what james is doing in 2004...... think he is in with toyota at the moment - along with ryan briscoe, surely 1 of them has to go all the way to f1 in the next 3 or 4 years.

James Courtney will end up doing Australian V8s
I don't think he'll race in F1 ever |

That would be a massive shame if he ends up racing hear....although it would just add another championship to his resume..
Surely he has to have been noticed by the F1 teams, the guy has been the best F3 driver in Europe and Japan for the past two years. If it wasn;t for the Monza accident in the Jag, he would have been British Champion as well. |

Well, he WAS noticed by F1 teams - Jaguar, as you say. But at the end of the day he blew his chances. It's a shame cos he had very good potential, but his performance at the end of the 2002 season with Carlin just wasn't impressive enough IMO.

Well, it did come after that massive Monza testing shunt. He wasn't the same after that.
I gotta say, I can't see Courtney making it into Formula One. Generally it seems drivers have one or two years where they're in the frame for an F1 seat, or they miss out. Invariably, if James was gonna get an F1 drive, it was probably going to be this year. That said, maybe he can get a Minardi drive for Paul Stoddart some day - I certainly hope he makes the F1 grid one day. |

Very hard to drive any car with a blinding headache & blurring vision after 3 or so laps at speed...that shunt he had when testing for Jaguar left him a lot more damaged then at first thought / it took him quite a few months to completely recover from it....so give the guy some slack...he will get into F1 in the near future

It's a shame things went the way they did at the end of last season for James, and he doesn't seem to ahve got much attention this year, so his chances might be behind him, unless he can get good backing in order to push for a Minardi drive next season.
