Can somebody please explain to me why the following get automatic entries ?
Corvette get two - they won the manufacturers title in the ALMS , got beaten in LeMans and the PLM Orbit - why ? Risi - why ? Freisinger get two - is that one for the N-GT title and one for the Spa 24 ? JMB - why ? PK sport - why ? Im sorry if this has been mentioned before but I honestly dont understand the above at all . Hope someone can help ? |

To The Badger:
Without looking at the list that the ACO has posted, I can't comment on each of those listed above, but I will tell you the criteria or events that were used for these bids: 1. First & Second Places in each of four classes at 2003 Le Mans race (8 bids) 2. Class winners at Petit (4 bids) 3. Season Class Champs for ALMS Season 4. The Various podium cars for LM 1000k, based on number of entries in each class (at least 9 for the whole podium - 3 cars - to get bids) - 2 in LMP900/GTP - 2 in LMP675 - 1 in GTS - 3 in GT (8 bids out of a possible 12 if all classes would have had 9 entries) 5. Four FIA-GT Series bids (top 2 N-GT and top 2 GT) ONLY if they meet ACO rules and guidelines for the ACO's GTS and GT classes If you look a the automatic entry list on this site, or go to the ACO's "Official Site" and lookm at the LM 1000K pages under articles, they will show you where and how those various entires "earned" their spots via automatic bids... |

Well this isn't my site Badger (my efforts are far more modest and update rather less frequently - must do something about that... ), but I'm glad you enjoy it here!
