Manchester race in 2006
http://www.speedtv.com/articles/auto/champcar/13028/
I especially like the part where Kalkhoven says, our schedule is already pretty full for 2005. |

Well it was predicted mounths a go as to be rumored to be on the 2006 CCWS schedule.
The famous Manchester United football stadium at old trafford is rumored to be close to the track and could be part of the stadium complex. I would certainly attend the race if it happens. Last edited by luke; 22 Sep 2004 at 17:31. |

The rumour I heard surrounded Manchester City's City of Manchester stadium rather than Old Trafford...

Manchester is way too far too near the arctic for me...I'm far more in favour of Champcar doing Thruxton - or a street circuit race around here maybe...
Long Beach, bah, Brighton Beach! |

What a great idea. They chose Rockingham partly because the name would be familiar over the pond, so Birmingham's a great idea.
Anyway, in Manchester there'd be a problem with pit stops. When you stop the car there they only take the wheels off, they don't put new ones on... Ok, I'm hiding now! |

If Champcar came back to the UK, I'd go wherever - just closer is preferable
I enjoyed the 2002 Rockingham race more than the 2003 Brands race though - didn't see any overtaking at Brands - it's just not suited to fast single seater racing. |
