That would be fantastic. Wirdheim was really strong in F3000. He would be an excellent addition to the grid.

A driver like Bjorn really should be able to get a Formula 1 chance, considering his testing experience and obvious ability. At the very least he should be able to get into a top CART team, which PKV currently isn't, although if Jim McGee joins it will be a boost.

As far as I'm conserned Bjoin deserves a top rid in ChampCar. He dominated the '03 international F3000 series as a result champion.

Also Luzzi has been rumored for a top ride in the future.

Luzzi is obviously extremely talented. I hope he gets an F1 test, or ride, but if not, I'd love to see him in Champcar.

I suppose it's good for ChampCars that drivers like Liuzzi, Wirdheim, Bourdais and Wilson are being overlooked by F1. It's a shame many only view ChampCars as a stepping stone, but their talent and character can add a lot to the series.

Liuzzi, Wirdheim, Bourdais and Wilson are all F3000 champs from '04 to '01, really F3000 is more of a feeder of talent in to ChampCars than F1.

It would be great to grab another F3000 champ. luke I can't believe you forgot to mention that Junquiera is the 2000 F3000 champ.

Champ car is still in a rebuilding stage. It would be terrific if it could be the top destination for the best open wheel drivers in Europe and the US by bringing in a top Altantic and F3000 driver every year. With a policy like that they would soon surpass even F1's driving talent.

Well there is a lot of good talent in ChampCars currently.

Afteral Montoya and I belive Zanardi were F3000 champs so really in contrast F3000 is the talent ladder to ChampCar.

I dont believe Alex Zanardi won the F3000 Championship.

But yes it seems F3000 can produce some very fine Champcar drivers

I think he came second to Luca Badoer, anyways stearing kind of more back to the topic, Luizzi would be a great ChampCar driver but I think Ferrari has him signed and sealed for the future in F1.

Wirdheim has much more of a chance.

Zanardi didn't come second to Badoer.

Badoer won the 1992 title, Zanardi was in F1 by 1991.

Zanardi finished 2nd to Fittipaldi in F3000 in 1991 and spent 1992 as tester for Minardi then Benetton before being signed by Lotus for 1993.

Wirdheim is a good guy and I hope to see him in Champcars next year.
