peespeed should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Carlow CC Rallysprint 27/12/04

Whose gonna be there, either competing, spectating or marshalling??
Will JMC have the Citroen in attendance or just looking after Mad Mark in the 306?? Any other notable entries??

I've been on to the club for an entry list but nothing as yet, but from whats in the papers it'll be a good days entertainment, Austin McHale in the Corolla, Nial Maguire, Kenny Mckinstry, Kevin Barrett, Martin O'Connell in WRC Impreza's and theres a possibility of the 206WRC making an appearance

Austin won't be competing, Gareth will be using the Corolla. Spoke to George earlier, doesn't know if he will make it. Good way to clear the Xmas hangovers!

I see the micra is up for sale still, now on rallycrossuk.com @£45,000. the advert reckons that is half the price of some of the new modifieds for next year!

VW racing will do you a polo for 75000 euro so em, where does this half the price bullcrap come into it ???

Theres a gazillion Polo Super 1600 Series 3 fully loaded shells around for 5000 euro!
http://www.rallycrossireland.com/michaelstuff/photos/ theres one for example.

£45,000 is still milles to expensive, sure michael coyne was out with passangers in the ex bellerby car and he was putting in simular lap times to the one and only mr. evans.

Its all a load of burocracy to try sell what really is a ba...ard car, cos it cant be used for anything else.

our ss1600 series 4 polo will cost us in total of about €25,000 euro thats keeping it at ss16 spec.

sure you can buy michael coynes supercar for less than that, and its everybit as quick and more fun and in the long run probably more economical on the wallet.

The one thing everyone fails to realise is how hungry that car is on the wallet, your rebuilding engines left right and center, slicks dont last long, it runs on rocketfuel.

Its really a very big lemon imo its the right colour too.

rxie the Micra can in fact be converted to rally spec very easily, lights, a slightly larger tank, wiring loom and detune the engine a bit for reliability and its a bit unfair to compare it to a S1600 car. But if you want a good proper spec S1600 car you will spend in excess of £60,000 without spares, some of the Clios arent far off £100,000.

As for the costs tyres wear out on all cars and in case you didnt realise S1600 cars also run on high octane fuel (not the rocket fuel) and a S1600 engine needs alot of attention too

it can be converted to a rallyspec but cant be used as a rallycar because it cant be homologated ...

Roundy Mooney should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Rxie the car already has a rally car log book so it could be used as soon as the second seat was bolted in. It would be used in class 13 up to 2.0 litre Modified.

But you might be right it could be hard to find a door off a micra in ireland as people who drive micra 1.0 litres are very rarely going quick enough to have an accident so it's hard to find one in scrap yard. Also after spending 45k on a car you probably wouldn't have any loose change left for the price of two spurious door panels from your local motor factors.

lol quiet you!

still your paying alot of money for something that could be baught for half that, and the whole claim of it beign much cheaper isnt exacly a good claim because it cost over the £90 mark to build which is apparenlty what the supermods currenlty being built are supposeadly costing according to the evans pricing list.

id buy it for 25 but not 45
