Help ?

Scots Git looking for help here....
I have re-located to Essex and have 20 'odd' years experience as a marshal (currently graded Flag) but due to new work etc. I have been unavailable this year to re-start my hobby. I submitted an availability sheet to BARC some time ago which included this weekends TOCA meeting at Brands. I have yet (Thursday evening) to receive any info / tickets etc. and have had no reply to my e mails to them looking for 'direction' (maybe it's a language thing...) This will be my first meeting at this venue (well maybe..)
Is there anyone who might kindly give me some advice re my situation...
Do i just turn up ? Where do i turn up to ? etc... or even if I could meet a fellow marshal at the circuit to point me in the right direction......
I will be grateful for any advice (keep it clean !!) If not I'll just stay in bed....
Cheers

Ring Sara Wernham at BARC HQ (01264 882200). She's taken over as Marshal's secretary and I'm sure she'll be able to help you.

Bob,
As Peter says Snetterton could well be an option depending which side of Essex you're currently resididing in - North Essex ends up equidistant between Brands and Snett. AMOC and MGCC next weekend if you can be encouraged!
For this weekend phoning Sara should point you in the right direction - hope to see you there

Bob - although this is a competitive meeting to mine, I have found the guys on the gate at brands very reasonable so you could try to appeal to their sense of fair play and blag your way in. Could always wait for some other orange soul to pass.

The marshals enter by Scratchers Lane off the A20 and signposted to the paddock. Once in BARC normally sign you on at the scrutineering bay office.

Hi Bob,

You will need to be at Brands by 8.00am on Saturday and 9.00am Sunday as racing starts at 9.00am and 10.00am respectively. Speak to the guys on the gate and tell them you have recently moved into the area, have volunteered but not received tickets and that you think they mayt have been sent to your old address. I'm sure they will let you through as Peter says.

Sign on is in the outer paddock at the scrutineering bay then most of us pop down to Hailwoods for a hearty breakfast so hopefully see you there. Trevor Jackson is the Chief Marshal so try giving him a ring (I think his number is on the BARC website).

Hope you make it ok and look forward to seeing you.

Stephen.

No reply from Sara seems to be the situation this week, maybe she is on holiday?

I understand Sara was off sick yesterday, I'm not sure if she is back in today. Generally they are very busy at the moment and their two new staff are trying hard to get everything dealt with.
