Very cool
Not sure about the wireless controllers. We've got a pair of them and they're an absolute disaster, you've only got to put the controller between your knee and the signal gets lost, and as with everything wireless (keyboards, mice, headphones) they eat batteries. If those issues aren't sorted and they release it with no option to use standard controllers, I can see the controllers becoming a bit of a nightmare for users. Still, the look of the thing is great, and it sounds like it'll be well worth having. |

I think I read that there are provisions for standard controllers as well...

If the 360 is out by Christmas I'll have one.
The PS3 is only likely to be released Q4 2006. Be interesting to see how improved the games are, graphically, seeing as its way more powerfull than a top spec PC. GTR 2 anyone? |

Ooh, looks really good-still quite disappointed to see that online play won't be free though

Hmmm, it looks like crap to be perfectly honest, and those wireless gamepads... yawn...

Hey, your opinion is your own, but I like the way it looks.
Looks like it may be a little less bulky than the first one, which was the size of a Betamax VCR. |

It also won't be backwards compatible.
I commend Microsoft for its efforts, but it's gonna get whipped by the PS3 I believe-so long as its kept at a competitive price. Sony's looking at the online stuff the right way as well-asking broadband companies to reduce costs, offering all online content for free and sticking in three ethernet ports and a built-in wireless adapter while Microsoft asks for a subscription and extra hardware. |

Indeed, that's one of the main reasons why I'm looking forward to release of the PS3 much much more than that of the Xbox 360.

Gah! No backwards compatability?!
I'm gonna have to call Bill... Me: Bill, whats the deal? I want to be able to play all my Xbox games on the new console. Bill: (waves hand) You don't need to play your old games... Me: I don't need to play my old games... Bill: You will trade them in for minimal discounts on new ones, subscribe to Live, buy additional H/ware and spread false rumours about Sony on internet forums...
