Allen Mead should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Canon's EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM Lens

Daft question probably, but is this a fixed length zoom lens like the 70-200mm?

No it is a push/pull zoom, increases in length by about 5 inches or so when zoomed to 400. Been using one for about 3 years and find it very good.

Thanks DWA. I was looking at a secondhand one on ebay it was up for £1.00 start off bid, then over night it went up to £300.

It's still a £1100 lens though (or thereabouts)

Aye, very true Hubble, just thought it seemed crazy that within the blink of an eye, the price increased due to bidding by 300%.

I doubt it will go for less than £700 or so. 'L' lenses really hold their value - even on Ebay.
