I've just watched yesterday's race on Eurosport and the Rio track seemed to have a relatively decent crowd, given the GP has recently been in town.
The idea of flat ovals is good, though is sure a test of gearboxes. |

Unfortunately the race had to end on a yellow which made the outcome of the race anti-climactic

i'm taping it tonight on ch. 5, so we'll see...
it was very anti-climatic, and it could havebeen great, what with a bunch of guys who really wanted to win (don't tell me vasser wasn't interested), all down to 5th or 6th. can you see the brazilians not going to race weekends when they have a bunch of well known drivers doing really well? i think not. i read somewhere that the surname fittipaldi is the 3rd most recognised (or something like that) surname in brazil. it's the same with beckham over here, i suppose. |

Maybe it was my state of mind . . . but I was left supremely bummed at the end. The Tagliani spins just knocked hell out of what could have been a very thrilling ten-lap sprint.
C'est la vie. C'est la racing. |

According to Autosport crowd was 60,000.
I think that's the best yet for Rio. |
