Who is James Hinchcliffe?
The boy looks like a future star!
What has he been racing before A1?? First event in an A1 car, and he's fastest! I know it's only practice but it's still quite an achievement. Ahead of guys like Manning, Lapierre, Halliday, Briscoe, Devany, Yoong, etc Well done boy! |

Karts, F.BMW & F.Atlantics. He also did some Grand-Am Daytona Prototype and Grand-Am cup races in 05 & 06. I know if a few people that know him, and they say that he's a really nice kid and fun to hang-out with.

I had heard of Hincliffe before this weekend but didnt realise how good he actually is, 8th on the grid is a good result for your debut race. Canada look like they have a strong driving line up to choose from this year in the shape of Hinchcliffe and WSR ace McIntosh.

He does the Champ Car international feed commentary with Jeremy Shaw too.

He's an awesome commentator on the World Champcar feeds, and obviously a handy steerer too.
If team Canada decided to dump him for McIntosh again, he'd certainly be able to teach the TV team a thing or 2!!! |

Boy, after seeing his two fine performances this weekend at Bruno - I'm sure he's got a long and successful future!

Hopefully he can get a GP2 seat for 07 and keep up his momentum in Europe.

I was cheering for him to hang on and win the Feature Race today, but he certainly proved that's he's a class act.

It must be a pretty high level of competition in Atlantics. I can't wait for next year! |

Yeah, from what I've noticed in A1, you need to make sure your team knows what they are doing.
Some of the cars at the back of the grid look terrible and not just becuase the some of the drivers are useless. You could really see it in Qualifying on the weekend. When the cars were on new tyres... Drivers like Devany shouldn't be down that far. Briscoe is another driver that should be further up the grid (not just when it rains). Which team runs Team Lebanon? |

Their main focus isn’t in A1GP – a driver from last year told me that at one of the races (I think China, as it clashed with either f3 or World Series) they used some of the A1GP sticker guys to help with pit-stops. |

Don't get me wrong though, I KNOW they are great, great team.
In my opinion I just don't think A1 is a main priority to them. |

James is proving to be very competitive , I havent seen any of his Atlantic stuff to know what he is like there but apparently he is a regular front runner.
I was surprised however to hear that he is only 19 years old , after hearing him commentate I think this guy is fantastic to be where he is at the age of 19. a huge future indeed. as a side note about Team Canada , where is Sean Macintosh from last year ? he was quite impressive why isnt he back in the team ? |
