Impossible to disagree with the above posts.
Most importantly the sport (irrespective of all who have tried to divide and rule) is stronger than for many years. A prayer for 2007 - BRDA has been good RSS has blossomed and with a successfull Superprix just may be coming of age - what about the BRRSSDA for 2007. |

The ERC has produced some decent action too. Larsson does the apparently impossible and beats Hansen. Groblewski dominates the second part of the season in 1a. Would be great to see Evans doing some events next year - and Jordan too?
And good to see everyone getting along(ish!). |

Agree with the other posts but how about a mention to Simon Horton who has done amazing things with that Metro and also for his enthusiasm and love of the sport.
Michael Boaks Audi has to be one of the best looking cars, im amazed no one else has built a similar car. As for the best meeting Lydden Easter so far but theres still this weekend to come. Anyway a thanks to all the drivers who have given us such a great year of rallycross and i think we can give a smug 2 fingers to all those that said the sport was dieing. |

Lets all work together for 2007
BUT Everybody and I mean Everybody must work together. I am really looking forward to next year it is very close to being back to what I remember as the best days. Any chance we can get Daniel Welch to do rallycross so we would have the same names competing - but what about the Dads. For those who know - where would we find another "Ken Ripp" Sphere Drake and "Freddie" - DSRM - Cannot remember his name was it Carter ?? TW |

Top 5 Rallycross Drivers 2006 (BRDA, BTRDA, MDA,ERC and RSS and whatever else)
In no particular order Lars Larson - Say no more, although I have to say at the start of the year I didn't see him winning!! Chris Evans - Although he's been in an amazing car he's driven brilliantly. Mondello was a typical example, staying in 3rd holding people up for 2 laps with a puncture. Dave Bellerby - Hardly made any mistakes and being on pole for superfinal at Anglesey says it all!! Ash Simpson - The way he drives a 205 has to be seen to be belived. Anyone who has been sat behind him going into the hairpin at Blyton will know what I mean! Mike Boak - Look at many peoples buget in supermodified, take away most of it and you have the amount that Mick runs the TT on. And on top of that, his driving this year has been great, some brilliant results, esp in the superfinals. The list could go on for ages, but I will put Andrew Jordan as my final person. I know he has lots of backing, I know he has done a lot of testing, BUT, he's been up there with Pat, Dermot, John etc since day one at Lydden, and also made them look silly at times. Nothing Andrew has done can make up for their experience. Most impressive Debut Ben Rennison - Obviously has good car and backing behind him but all the same its not easy to jump in a car and be fast! Let alone win, inc your first event. Most Improved Lots of people, but Steve Hill has really done well in an ageing car. Ash Simpson again, really 'come of age' if he can. His driving certainly has! Tony Lynch, showing signs of beating Julian at some points, which in itself has been very impressive. Simon Horton - and after his amazing weekend at Lydden seems to have moved on another Level. And without being at all arrogent I would like to think that I have imporved leaps and bounds this year. Have finally worked out how to start driving fast, so improving by the event instead of sitting in the rut I may have been in. Best Car Evans Astra without question - Tony Bardy can certainly turn out a lovley machine. Best Looking Car Mike Boaks TT, Tracys RS200 and I still have a thing about Holdfelds escort! Also Dave Baines's Saxo looks mint! Best Event Lydden (both BRC Lydden events), although Easter Monday showed the re-emerging face of rallycross in the UK which was great! Croft was pretty good last weekend, but nothing on last years event! I'm sure the superprix will be great this weekend. Best Overtaking No question, Mike Turpin on Mike Howlin at Lydden Easter Monday. Funniest Moment Lawence when all was lost in the Supercar B final at Anglesey, showing off and spinning (lots). Also Kev running around with a puncture at Croft with bits of tyre flying everywhere. Star of the Future (Not to include a certain red supercar!!) Kyle Orr, again I know he has lots of backing etc but think he an do well in the future. Think Ash has to be watched whatever he decides to do aswell. Ben Rennison and Ben Power have also shone in Juniors this year. |

The superprix wins it for me now as best event, the entertainment was non stop for 2 days and seeing some of those revivals brought back some good memories.
Best newcomer after last weekend would have to be Ollie, how i would love to see him do a season in that Saab. |
