Take a look when you are next in your local magazine retailer for the new official F1 magazine. This month's issue has TGF's mug on the front. It's thicker than FHM (ie. hefty) and comes in at only £3.50 - that same as the piece of tat that is F1 Racing. I would recommend checking it out.

Any ideas whether it's better than Autosport? What is it actually called? The Official F1 Mag?
If it's much better than Autosprout I might change my subscription but i'd better check it out first. Ally |

I saw any advert for that as well, there's a website at http://www.f1magazine.net . Did you buy a copy MFan or did you just stand clogging up W H Smiths while you read it?

I bought it.
Although it does not have the weekly news as it is not weekly (surprise...) it has far more interesting articles and less of a bias towards the top teams which F1 Racing does nothing to hide. And yes, I shall stand in WH Smith this week to read Autosprout's F1 bitz... |

I've also forked out the 'tree-fity' for the mag and it is quite brilliant. As MF says, it's more of a serious read than the tabloidal news Autosport type mag and there are some really great things in it.
I'm actually thinking of subscribing - it's bloody cheap if you do it before April... |

Since last week this magazine is available over here in the Netherlands and I bought it just out of curiousity.
And I think it's great. Not only is it cheap, it has 258 pages with some beautiful pictures. It has a lot of 'inside' stories, like an article on Jenson Button, some never seen before photos (very artistic) of Schumacher and his wife, an article on Senna, the fastest lap ever, the woman behind Eddie Jordan, Stirling Moss' last race, Mario Andretti's memories, book and video reviews, a technical section etc.. I didn't even have to think for a minute if I was going to subscribe. I just did!!! So much interesting content for so little money. Oh, and after all this praise, if I gave the impression I have anything to do with this magazine, I have not. But it has been a long time since I got so very excited about a motorsport magazine. |

I've now got round to getting a copy as well and it certainly looks very interesting - haven't really had chance to sit down and read it yet, just flicked through. Doing that was enough to make subscription a must

could have done without the schumacher pseudo-pornography (not what you need to see in the midst of a hangover), but i like it. still working my way through it, whereas f1 racing takes me 5 minutes.
it's a good mix of hello! and f1 racing's pictures and autosport's content. the writing is a bit tough to get into, though, and the jenson button thing nearly made me sick... |

I finally got round to buying the mag today.
I will admit I was a bit worried that, with Nikki Lauda as Editor-in-Chief, there might be a heavy Jaguar bias. When I opened the mag it fell open at the Jaguar X-Type roadcar test, and then at the Irvine "Life In The Fast Lane" column... But I was wrong. The mag is great! I really enjoyed the tech focus section, the team preview pages, and the Stoddart piece. I'll probably never read the 'Mrs Jordan' bit, but I might stretch to taking in the Schumacher and his missus one! (I just won't look at the photos! ) Not quite sure what to make of the Button 'party' article. It kinda reeks of the ol' hype machine, but we'll see. I definately buy it again, but a subscription... Hmmmnn. I'm not that convinced. |

I just bought Issue 2, and I'm not so impressed:
I basically just skimmed through the first 100 pages, as it was full of features on road cars and heroes of the past, which don't really interest me, and those shirtless Villeneuve pics make you feel funny. However, the race reports are pretty good, especially the team-by-team analyses, but its a long way to get to them. Finally, on the reviews page: "Opening the ITV encyclopedia at the 'Great Drivers' section and finding a large profile on luca Badoer was not an encouraging start" Whaaaat!!? Travesty! I shall definitely buy this ITV encyclopedia. After all those grumbles I'll probably buy it next month anyway, as I'm a magazine-a-holic, and I can't see one vaguely interesting without buying it. I may stop getting F1 Racing though, its getting worse and worse. |

i bought the new one during my lunch break at work, and was late back. it is good bog reading, but please - less of the lifestyle ****. it's really patronising. and i'm sure ralf wasn't the happiest man in the pitlane just because he pulled.
on the other hand, it does well with women. from a girl's point of view, there's nothing worse than seeing a bunch of ugly hookers and calling them gorgeous pit babes. please. it's us female fans that are the pit babes. just without the pit bit... i'm gonna buy it again. the problem is, while these villeneuve pics are obviously done by a good photographer, and they are good pics, it's kind of embarassing trying to read the article in public without looking like you're staring... |

LUCA IS GOD. AS IS KIMI. AND MARC. I agree that Issue 2 is a bit below the par of the first - who gives a monkey's about road car articles and Mrs. Pollock??? |

Mildly...annoyed!
Hmmmmmm....
I decided to subscribe to the magazine, and have not heard anything since. I even sent them an e-mail asking what was going on...but no reply. Has anyone else subscribed online? Have you got a copy yet, or had any correspondence? |
