The Championship Table.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/moto...gs/default.stm
By the time they're flying around the Yas Marina this might not matter - but I am curious: how was the championship table worked out after Australia? Why is Sutil down near the bottom when he finished ninth? Why is Massa ninth in the table after a big, fat DNF? Why is Nakajima between Vettel and Kubica when he crashed out before both? They're not even listed alphabetically, or based on qualifying position... any help? |

All those questions have a simple answer. The BBC are good at screwing things up. Here is the official standings from f1.com

I don't that counts here. They run their own table that doesn't take into account some rather irrelevant aspects. Those that have no points are not players after the first race. Bang them all in a list of no point numpties; the pedantic and pointless (pun intended) drivers are just in a list.
IMHO. |

Cheers. |

Is any championship table going to be right this year? Or just the one published three months after Abu Dhabi?

Surprised that the FIA table lists all the drivers, I thought the official one only included drivers who had completed at least one race...?

Well there is the possibility that at least one driver may not figure at all in the championship standings this season, and so the FIA have thoughtfully allowed it to be shown that at least he was taking part.

Looking good for Alonso anyway, once the diffusers are disqualified he will have won the Australian GP! |

http://www.formula1.com/results/season/2009/805/ explains why they are listed in the order they are pretty well.
