I doubt this is anything more than a bit of PR to get column inches, however I can be a grumpy, cynical, negative git at times....so lets wait & see.

I can understand him perhaps testing but I doubt he'll come back full-time.

Nothing like a good come back rumour on a slow news day.

The rumour has been around for a couple of weeks. All that article does is suggest some alternative reasons for it.
As a serious Mika fan, I hope he doesn't come back. I'd much rather keep my memories of his great years. I'm not even happy that he plays around with those German taxis, although I suppose it keeps him out of mischief and in pocket money. |

Mika is not going to come back and undo his reputation by getting his ass whipped by Alfonso.

I'm not too sure he would get his ass whipped - but I agree with you, he won't be back in F1 - his Mrs wouldn't let him!

As much as I'd love to see my all-time-fav driver back on track, I seriously doubt there is any chance of it.
Furthermore, I'm not to sure it would do him any good - that ass whipping just might happen if he tries. Testing? Why would he do that??? And, in the end, as Pitstop already sad - his wife (what was her name) wouldn't let him, and since she is one of the main reasons he retired in first place, I don't see her changing her mind. |

If anything he may just do a promo run in one of the cars for Johnnie Walker. I couldnt see it going beyond that.

My main thought about these rumours is it goes to show just how popular Mika was/is. Can't think of many other drivers who would invoke such a desire for a return.

Yes, I remember her well, I just couldn't remember her name...
P.S. Five years ago, who'd think my 1000nd post would be about Erja Hakkinen??? |

So basically it was a load of PR nonsense then - hah - the 1st of many before the real business of racing begins again.
Do the teams actually put a value on how many pages of Autosport they can fill with this rubbish? Then sell that value to potential sponsors..hmmmmm |
