Best looking GT1 car ever?
What's yours? for me it's a toss up between the Toyota GT-ONE or Porsche 911-GT1 98.

yeh it is a beauty. and the technical innovations made it supperior to all machinery. like the vortex lift issue where the stakes around the cockpit created a low pressure area enabling it to travel fatser. true class, just a shame it never won a race. it deserved to!

In terms of appearance, for me it is the Mercedes Benz CLK-LM. Yep, the ufo. Surely nothing that stunning has taken flight since. Close second goes to the Porsche 911-GT1.

which engine sounded nicer though. the v8 or the v12 plant? i only heard it at lm '99. i think it was running a v8 as it waved bye bye to the v12 engine at the end of 98?

CLK-LM had a V8 (1998). CLK-GTR(1997) the V12
CLR v8 (1999) V8 sounded better IMO. Last edited by JAG; 11 Mar 2004 at 21:39. |

Either the Mercedes-Benz CLK-LM, or the McLaren F1 GTR in BMW Motorsport livery (1997).

917? GT1????
No need to ask me what I think the best looking GT1 was - as Rob suggests, absolutely no contest at all. If anything runs it close, its the longtail McLaren F1 GTR. |

Call me a Prosche nut but I like the Dauer 962 and the GT198 the best of all. I never liked the first generation or evolution of the GT1 in 1996 and 1997 though.
