Road America 2016
Road America is a great place to hold a motor race. We have all 4 classes in action again with a couple of bonus cars in addition to the series regulars. We have an extra GTD Porsche for the Weather Tech big cheese and Gunnar Jeannette, plus an additional Viper from Lone Star Racing for Dan Knox and Mike Skeen. There is also a 3rd PC for Starworks this round making it 9 PC's.
Some additional story-lines to follow: Will the Fords be able to stretch their legs on the long straights at Road America? Will Mazda finally put a race together? Will Bruno Junqueira be able to shake the rust off and get up to speed in PC? Schedule Entries Weather Spotters Guide Track Map Fantasy Racing |

Dear J Jay, maybe you would like to write this one down to add it to your repertoire : The Ford GT is so sleek that it cuts through the air like hot knife on butter. There you go
Great that there will be racing in such an awesome track this weekend but I'll have to watch this one entirely on the internet because I think the Olympic Games nonsense start this weekend |

I think anything other than a Ford victory would be considered an 'upset'

After Le Mans a lot of people thought the Fords would clean up the rest of the schedule. Didn't happen at the Nurburgring and didn't happen at Lime Rock. Maybe the long straights will help the Fords, maybe they won't.

It appears they've dialed it back after achieving their goal. They will be just fine. I predict both pole, and a win.

Allegedly no new tracks, but dates may shift somewhat to avoid back-to-back weekends. That may be difficult to arrange through the summer (post-Le Mans, June 17-18), but I suppose it could be possible:
July 2 - Watkins Glen July 15 - Lime Rock July 30 - Road America Aug. 13 - Mosport Aug. 27 - V.I.R. Last edited by HighParker; 3 Aug 2016 at 19:09. |

Imo, this is one of the best tracks in America (the U.S.). Hopefully Mazda can get their elusive win.

Black Swan has withdrawn from Road America (and possibly future races later this season) after the death of owner/driver Tim Pappas' father on Monday per Racer Magazine.

Proceedings start nice and early tomorrow. Does the circuit allow folks to get in there today to set up? I assume they do.
Wish I was there with them, eating cheese, grilling brats and drinking the Beast. |

Does anyone know if Cooper is as tough to deal with as other sites have said? Their release didn't sound like the usual 'thanks and we hope you good things' but more like we're done with him. But the money and a rising Porsche driver is also something AJR would jump on if offered, haven't lasted this long running the team being stupid.
