Enjoy Mount, I've been twice and F1 cars are absolutely awesome things to see in the flesh. The sheer speed is mind boggling. After you've seen these guys stop, turn and accelerate, V8 supercars will just never be quite as impressive anymore.

I won't be there, I now have a policy of only travelling interstate to meetings as a competitor, nothing else.

I've managed to score a FREE GA ticket, so i might have to overlook my new policy and trek down to see what I hope will be Webber's first GP.

Im actually considering it now that Mark Webber has landed a drive , bit late for granstand seats so i may just buy general admission tickets.

i went to the first one in melbourne back in 96 and it was great , but I am gonna seriously consider this one thats for sure.

over to the bean counters

My leave application was approved today, YAY! Thanks boss!

Accomodation is now booked and airline ticket ordered and paid for.

I have to spend 2 hours riding a Virgin with nothing to eat, oh dear. What will i do with my hands?

I think a meet up and group photo is called for. I'll be there all 4 days, we're staying in Prahran.

I also reccommend doing the Melbourne motor show while we are there.

I can't believe I'm actually looking forward to purchasing some Minardi merchandise.

WEBBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll go to the newsagent's tommorrow and get a programme, so we can choose a time when there's nothing good happening. Did someone say Formula Ford?

Elephino, is there still a Macca's around the back of the circuit?

Never mind the newsagent, you can actually download and print out the event schedule at www.grandprix.com.au

The F1 cars hit the circuit at 11am on Friday and there's bugger all worth seeing before then.

I see that Historic Touring Cars are listed in the programme, but they are not mentioned anywhere in any advertsising or promotions. Seems odd, as they are one of the best things on the programme, also it seems very odd that someone like me who is actively involved in Historic Touring Cars was completely unaware of this. I hope it's not a misprint. Boy, I wish my car was ready.

The macca's should be there again this year. It does work well as a meeting point.

Historics will therefore be on at about 6pm each day.

I'll be rather stuck on the Thursday trying to get photos of F1 drivers but any other time you want to organise...

Great idea... just two or three sheets of paper needed, no need to be thumbing through pages of nice glossy ads looking for an entry list or the race schedule...

By the way folks, I understand that the Phillip Id Historic meeting the previous week is overburdened with fantastic cars, lots of pre-war Maseratis and the like, including one that won Indianapolis.

Better roll-up than what's going to Albert Park, I'm assured.

I'm going to my first Melbourne AGP, from the layout it looks like there is plenty of reasonable vantage points in General Admission - is this right? Anyone from the Webber Supporters Club going?

I've had reserved grandstand seating in past years, but I think it looks pretty good for GA toicket holders. Although, with Webber now running, expect a rush on tickets, it might get pretty packed. Brock hill is good, not to far from Macca's. :
