Slowing down the DTM car

Hi there, i wonder if anyone is into DTM car technoogy, cause we have some weird case last years in the Czech circuit championship.
The problem is, its divided into classes according to the engine displacement (under 2l, under 3,5l, over 3,5l) the two lower classes are somewhat okay, but if we come to the biggest class, there are competing for example GT2 Porsche vs. GT1 Saleen vs. DTM Mercedes....weird huh? , yep...the Saleen s got a bigger restrictor i believe, but there is problem with DTM cars, wich are going significantly faster than others. Next year there is going to be the rule :
DTM cars will have to do two drive-troughs during the race (50km distance), wich is supposed to slow them down. I personally think that it is absolute nonsense and i dont like it (yes..the other case is..the guys in our national sporting club are there just for money....not for the racing, wich is very very sad). Last year there was five DTM cars (2 starting regulary).
Is there any option to slow these fast beasts down without any significant expenses for the teams?
Thank you
