V8Supercars AGM Points of Interest (Merged)
Super Thursday... 8th November...
... where the 17 franchise licence slot owners get in a room and decide the future of the sport..... I dont think MN is overplaying this... .. the discussions to be had allegedly include: - An election to the TEGA/VESA boards of the teams' Ford and Holden members' (predicted to be totally new) - A decision as to whether TEGA/VESA will become one merged entity - A decision as to the disposition of Mr O'Reilly's very expensive contract - Discussion around the continuation of Mr Cochrane ... plus the usual scrapes and twiddles that go on at an AGM. MN suggests there may be blood on the carpet... I wonder where the numbers lay... it could be very interesting |

Will be interesting to see which heads don't appear, and which appear bruised and bloodied, at the Clipsal 500 Launch on Friday....

They may not have a Chairman or a GM or a board....
What's Dr John doing on Friday... he might get the "none of the above" vote |

Meanwhile.. in MeN today... Mr O'reilly is believed to have been permanently "eliminated" from the TEGA board, and has reportedly been offered a settlement... presumably from the GM, TEGA position....
Could end up in court... like most serious disagreements within TEGA |

So the TEGA board is now 5 strong, looking for a 6th
Ford: R.Stone (SBR), T.Edwards (FPR) Holden: L.Perkins (JDR), P.Morris (PMM) Independent Chair: R.Cook Now why would you look to unbalance the board in numbers by bringing in one more? Unless at the same time this happens, S&EL gets a seat at the revised/merged TEGA/VESA table... for their GM in Mr Cattach or their chairman Mr Cochrane... Is this today's mega announcement? |

If TEGA own 75% of VESA, I can't see how a combined board would work, TEGA needs to sit on the VESA board only

If the new crumb bum TEEGA/V8SA board has 8 places on it, there will need to be 6 from the teams, and 2 from Cocho's mob
Plus maybe an independent chair. So TEEGA needs to pony up another 2 directors. Or maybe appoint a 3rd team player from each maker. Or leave the space free for those Japanese blokes from Altona. |
