Me neither, and after his "CART needs me more than I need them" comments, I am sad to say I don't rate his chances well. I seem to vaguely remember something about him and stock cars, but that might be my imagination.

He's a good sports car driver; they will probably hire him to drive the Team Olive Garden car as a third driver for endurance races. But he has talked himself out of a CWS drive unless he gets a grip on his attitude.

I remember when Max made his comment about CART needing him more than he needs CART and someone took up for him at the time. I said then that you can't talk like that until you've got a signed contract paying your bills. Now it looks like Max was indeed wrong. At the time NASCAR was interested, there was talk of the IRL maybe being interested, a sure sportscar ride, open CART seats with his name rumored to be on them...
Has anybody else ever known somebody that received a bonus and started spending the money before they got it only to have something happen and them not get the money at the time they had planned? I think that's what happened here. Max started counted all these rides he was rumored for before he had any contracts in his hands. You would think somebody who had to sit out much of last year would do whatever it took to get a stable ride. Hopefully Max learned his lesson this time. |

An owner who shall remain nameless but can probably be guessed by his words was about to hire Max, when Max sat down and started dictating terms to him. After ten minutes of nonstop speech from Max, this owner said, "Hey, buddy, are you the owner of this team or the driver?" Exit Max, stage left, having talked himself out of a drive.
This kind of thing gets around, Max. Motorsport is a very small world. As granny used to say, "The Lord gave us two ears and one mouth. That is so we can listen twice as much as we talk." |

Max has never done much for me, not the guy you put in a car for a run at a championship. The Mad Max thing has become worn, go away Max.

I won't be too disappointed if he doesn't get a ride. He really made himself look the fool with some of his earlier comments.

Hey,long shot but I think his next ride will be for Fernandez, him filling in for Adrian twice in 02.

I like when he filled in last year for Fernandez he was talking like he was a new integral part of the team and that Fernanadez had found the light a bit on setups now that he had come onboard.
You were a fill in Max, do your job, say thanks for the chance, grab your Helmet and go away. |

I noticed that too -- I wonder if that was why Adrian was back in the car for the next race? He was afraid Max wouldn't let him have his car back if he waited!

Wonder if Max realizes how much damage that one stupid comment has done to his reputation? I'm not quite ready to say that I don't like the guy anymore, but I'm REALLY happy that Tags took his ride away. I'm becoming more and more a Tagliani fan, and I think Gentilozzi will add a bit of spice to the series as well.
