Rally GB spectating
Any advice on the best stages to spectate on this year.
In previous years I've been to the superspecials but fancy some REAL rallying. |

Have a look at the Spectator Restrictions thread for details on the ticket options available.

JAG, my advice: Don't bother. If you go, you will get fleeced, and treated like **** at the same time.
Seriously, stay at home, save your cash, and organise a foreign trip for next year. Go somewhere where you, and your money, will be treated with the repect you/it deserves. |

Hey I'm used to that with circuit racing. At least with rallying theres some entertainement.
I'll see how it is this year as apparantly there will be big improvements. For example car parks will not be filled to capacity in order to let you get in and out quickly for the next sstage. |

But i worry that spectators will be corralled together, and kept too far from the stage itself to see anything worthwhile. All stages will become like the Sunday 'Mickey mouse' stages used to be, except this time you'll be asked to pay extraordinary amounts of money for the privelage.

First of all this is NOT recommend by me at ALL but....
In rally Oz, you need a lot of people doing road closures. If someone approaches your position though, the worst you can do is give them a yellow piece of paper and ask them kindly to leave. If they refuse to leave not a lot can be done unless the road closure official decides to tackle you (not a good option for them, they're there to watch the rally as well). So unless Mobile Security comes round (not terribly likely, but not unlikely) you would be able to stay at that spot and watch the rally. Now if only you could get hold of a stage map, you could plan.... |
