[iV8SC14R010203] Clipsal 500, Adelaide -27 February-2 March

The season is about to start.... dont forget to get your fantasy championship entries in...

3 races at Clipsal this time... two shorter ones and a regular 250km slog.

Anyone betting against 888?

My picks will haveto go to Tekno, RBRA and HRT.

With Ingall to get a top 10 at Clipsal.

We didn't learn much at the test day, but I really believe that it's a lot more open at each round - BJR, 888, FPR and HRT should be strong along with Van Giz and Reynolds.

The Nissan's look much stronger as well. I'd lay a cheeky bet on them being in the top 5 at Adelaide.

Slade and Percat should be challenging for top 10s on a semi-regular basis.

Erebus still a little bit too far away, but getting closer. I'd like to think they'll be challenging for top 5s by mid-year.

DJR - Scott Pye could be awesome or he may have another tough year. David Wall was a big improver at BJR. If he can continue that he could surprise a lot.

Volvos will struggle for a while. Ingall & LDM might start strong, but can't see them maintaining it for the season.

Perkins - will need to be running in top 10 if he wants to be racing beyond this year. Dale Wood - will be a tough year for him. Question will be if he can at least match Wall's performances from 2013.

1, 888, 2, 22, and 97 will be up the pointy end. I'd put all 4 FPR cars as roughies, but not all in the same race.

Might see one of each of the other three makes to figure in the back half of the top 10 at some point over the weekend.

I too, believe that Ingall will come out of the box strong, but by the time the car starts wearing out, he'll drop off. I don't think he'll figure in the results much after the GP.

V8xtra is on this afternoon on 7mate, check your local guide for times, it said 1.30 for Victoria. Guessing its a season/Clipsal preview show. Good to see something of V8s back on the tv.

Just realized MotorsTV will have live coverage of race 1 & 2 from Adelaide (with race 3 tape delayed). It's going to be nice seeing some live V8 SuperCars action on tracks other than Bathurst for a change - especially this year with Volvo and Dahlgren on the grid

Brilliant. Early start for me on Saturday then! Doesn't seem like it's a year since I was over there for last year's races.

Have fun, those who are going.

Seems they may not be having Superview again this year, can only find an option to buy last years races at the moment. Would of expected a bit more given the first race is only a few days away. Unless of course it will be entirely free, with ads, but I highly doubt that.

There is a new app available for iPad, the app is free but you pay to get the live timing. What I find interesting is that appears they are trying to bypass the Apple subscription options only offering the subscription via credit card outside the standard in app purchases facility.

Does anyone know much about Apple Appstore conditions from what I have read this is not really allowed?

I've seen a few people saying Live Timing is not working but mine is fine.

Times only but no streaming via V8's website

If your java is up todate, you may get a security warning.

Live timing only works if you add 'http://v8live.natsoft.com.au' to the Exception Site List on the Security tab of your Java Control Panel

Natsoft really should be using a https conection/site to avoid users problems

Just updated Java yesterday and finally got timing working with a lot of fiddling. Don't the website developers do any testing ???

Have you seen the V8 Supercars website, based on that I would say no. One example is the TV schedule page, you have to scroll to the bottom of the page to then be able to scroll across the page to find the end times, but then you cant see which channel the events are on. There is so much white space on that page it is a joke but the logos are pretty - that is all that counts right

How many ads appear on news stories on the V8SC site that relate to V8Superview Phillip Island 2013?
