(I'm doing a Copy&Paste of last season's rules. If necessary, in FIA's style, rules will be tweaked for Ferrari... err... I mean for the best of the game)

2011 SUMMER CUP

RULES

(Except the part where money is involved)

Object of the game:
You have to guess the winner. You can put one, two, three or four riders as winners.

Scoring:
If you put one rider and he wins, you get 4 points.
If you put two two riders and one of them wins, you get 3 points.
In case you put 3 names and one wins, you get 2.5 points.
If you choose to put four names, and one of them wins, you get 2 points.
If you fail to guess the winner, you get 0 points.

Time limit:
Guesses can be done until one hour before the official time for the star of the first race (125, 250 or MotoGP, whatever it is). Usually it will be one hour before 125 race. Even if the race is delayed because unusual circumstances, the time limit will not be changed.

Remarks:
Every FIM GP three guesses can be entered: for 125cc, 250cc and MotoGP. Those are three different games, so you can enter only one or two categories if you like.

Apart from the three classifications (125, 250 and MotoGP), I'll put a "global" classification adding all of them.

The key of the game is to predict the winner putting the least possible numbers of candidates. But if you put too few riders, you risk getting 0 points!

There will be two separate championships: Summer Cup until mid season and Autumn Cup in the second part of the season.

In case of tie, it is ahead who has better score in the last round, then in the second last round, etc. If there is still a tie in "Total" category, it is ahead who has more points in MotoGP, then in 250cc. Finally, if all of that fails, it is ahead who has guess earlier in the last round (and here there are not further possible ties!).

Example:

Let's suppose you put the following guesses and the real winners are Aggarawanda, Poggiali and Gibernau:
125 = Angel Nieto, Aggarawanda, marcus (you get 2.5 points for Aggarawanda)
250 = Kocinsky, Phil Read (you get 0 point, you failed)
MotoGP = Gibernau, Agostini (you get 3 points for Gibernau)

If you need to change your guess, please post another one (don't edit). Remember the limit is one hour before the scheduled start of the first race (125cc in this case), any further edit after it will un-habilitate the post.

The dear old chaps are here again! My life has been retaken again, after months hibernating and/or seeing races on ice (those two things are the same, are not they?).

There apparently is some Australian determined to rush to the title in MotoGP. Hint: he rides a Honda. Hint2: his wife is sweet.

However, if I were Honda, I would be worry about the amount of "winded" chassis by those two teammates, when they are excited they like to crash serially.

Great season ahead, methinks.

Surprisingly I am posting the results just one day after the races. I promise you this disgrace is not going to be repeated

ghinzani has won this round, perhaps because he didn't know he could guess more than one rider per race

. jhansen was also brilliant, he even did it without paying anything! Awesome!

One could say all the three winners were easy. In fact everyone guessed all of them... err... wait, marcus failed Moto2

Jerez and rainish weather brought some not so easy race winners. The (suspect) Dani was (suspiciously) brilliant (suspect = not paying/rewarding the host). His Iannone coup has make him the winner of this round and one front runner in the Summer Cup. Actually, nothing strange as he is one of the usual winners here (but paying, of course).

Terol was an easy one, but Iannone and even Lorenzo were more a surprise. Iannone aside, the Lorenzo factor was what ordered the players this round, half of them guessed the Spaniard and half of them not.

In 125, jhansen (i.e Spies in disguise) and ghinzani lead, but the field is extremely close. However, in Moto2 Dani leads by some margin, let's see how this random category evolves.

MotoGP is, though, jhansen's realm to lead with a gap. In Total, those two "aliens" jhansen and Dani are at the front of operations, with the "vitriolic"

ghinzani close and watching. At the moment Summer Cup is an affair (pun intended) around three players; the rest of us will wait and hope for better cards [/wishful thinking mode].

I balls'ed up by not choosing Lorenzo as well. Valuable lesson learned, should have read the warnings.
