Moreno Confirmed at Herdez!

Remember when it was all bad news all the time and everybody jumped into our forum to run their chops everyday about how CART was finished and dead and there wouldn't be ten cars in the field? Now it's good news everyday and I'm not hearing anything from the naysayers at all. I believe this makes 20 official entries? By mid-season I suspect 22-24 and next year I believe we could see as many as 28 quality teams. Once a good investment gets out it's hard to keep everybody else from jumping on board. |

Can't say i'm a fan of Roberto myself. I'd have liked someone like Papis or Herta to get a seat but good luck to him all the same..

How can you not love a guy who come close to crying when he wins a race! He's always had boatloads of talent, but he's a perpetual underdog!

Hurrah for Moreno!
 Anyone who could jump into the Benetton and darn near win his first ever F1 race beside Nelson Piquet -- and who would have won a championship if TGF hadn't turfed him out of his drive (he still talks about that) ... anyone who is in his 40s and still considered one of the champion guys on the grid -- is welcome to drive in any league I cheer for, any time. Welcome aboard Robeto and may you drive successfully all year (and your teammate too. Viva Herdez! ) |

I'm pleased to see Roberto in action again, he's the kind of driver CART needs - popular, likable, talented and helpful. He should win at least once this year, and help Dominguez develop into a more useful driver.

Good question, BSchneiderFan. I think that Moreno still has what it takes, but the team? Although perhaps one of the better-funded endeavours, it's their first time running two cars. Between Moreno and Keith Wiggins, I'm sure that the team will be able to find good setups, and I'm sure that they'll win a race or two. But not the championship.
