Petit Le Mans 2024
OK, Glen is in the books. The only race left for the WeatherTech Endurance Championship is the Petit Le Mans. Were only 110 days till the Petit so the planning is beginning.
Who intends on attending this year? Do you plan on camping or just attending the race? How many people do you expect in your party? I hear so much about the TenTenth.com gathering at the 24 Hour Le Mans, sure would like to see such a gathering for the Petit. |

Whoops, forgot about Indy. Maybe a Freudian slip.

It's now 90 days before the Petit. So how many of you folks are planning to attend?

Really want to but I didn’t score camping passes in time. Now searching for someone wanting to unload their RV camping pass. Not feeling very optimistic!

Yeah, the RV reserve spots go fast and are usually renewed early early. Depending on the RV and when you arrive you can hope and hit the non-reserved but no hookups and none of it is close to level

Road Atlanta has no non-reserved RV available either. None. The only thing available for camping is non-reserved tent. I've had the same reserved RV spot for over 20 years. I would never let it go. Even if I couldn't attend, I would still pay for the spot just to be grandfathered in for the next year.

It's rare, but I have seen people selling their tickets on Wednesday morning on the road leading up to the entrance holding signs.

Entry list is released: https://sportscar365.com/imsa/iwsc/c...petit-le-mans/
Another capacity grid, 54 cars! The 2 prototype classes pick up a few cars and the GTD classes grow with 6 more entries compared to last year. Of course, no more P3s this year. Looking forward to it, hoping the weather will corporate! |

Damn, they're higher than everyone else by a significant bit
But it is weather.com and they stopped actually doing real meteorology years ago and have predicted it was raining at Cobb Cloverleaf where their office was and it was bright sunshine. Now it's just weather panic and absolutely insane storm chasing with fake videos sadly |

https://www.accuweather.com/en/us/braselton/30517/daily-weather-forecast/2140080 Reads pretty much the same. No rain and highs in the mid 70's. Lots of sunshine. Hope it holds true. Could be one of the best Petits ever. |

If it's not WSB or Weatherbug within 3 days it's meh locally it seems. Weather Underground isn't bad but I rarely trust more than 3 day forecast in the fall here. But the long term forecast is very low rain so that's a plus. And the ground has softened a bit so maybe no dust clouds going off track this year

Slipped in to the entry list was Dragonspeed going to GTD Pro instead of the GTD originally listed
https://sportscar365.com/imsa/iwsc/d...pro-for-petit/ Vilander, Abril and Neubauer in the car for Petit. Back to GTD for 2025 |

54 cars is a LOT but then i checked back in the results and there were 56 in 2011! Traffic is going to mental. Should be a great race.

Originally there were 58 entries with 'only' 54 cars allowed to take the start (52 I believe actually did after more than 1 withdrawal due to incident damage). I vaguely remember a few LMPC cars having to pre-qualify. My arm is still recovering from the "blue flag tsunami' that year! |

I understand that like its the case for the Le Mans group, you're happy to have an annual family reunion. Did some of the posters race or drive the track during club meeting? From where you'll be, you can see say one or two miles of the track but what about the rest. Giant screens or TV?
