The latest info I have is that there are 62 cars paid up and entered.

We will be very busy this year!
We have entered 2 Marcos (one with a all Japanese driver line up) and the Mosler.

Which layout will be used for the 24 hours? The old GP-circuit or the new "arena"-section?

Has anyone seen an up to date entry list? DSC had a preliminary one back in June but I haven't heard if all of the mooted entries had been confirmed.

Cor Euser was on the preliminary list with his Marcos LM600 - if that car is there then it's worth the price of admission alone!

According to the britcar website, the circuit length is 3.194, which is the old GP circuit.
Support races from what i can find......(provisionaly) the meeting will feature races for Alfa Romeos, Ma5da MX5s, VW Golf GTIs, VAG Trophy, Sports 2000s, Porsche Club, Porsche 911 GT3 Cup and as said previously, Monopostos.

What's the advantage or disadvantage now for Silverstone of running the old circuit as opposed to the new one?

None. Better viewing for a start.

I'll be popping along for the event. Planning to stick it out for the full 24 hours, somehow...

Just remember to take very warm clothes for the night. The last couple have been very warm during the day but get to about 3 am and it feels like January, also later this year so will be even colder.

On the subject of the ticket offer I have 5 people of my group who have used their e mail addresses so as you can gather they are getting a bit flustered as the £6 each has already been paid.

Circuit hire is probably cheaper, and as the Bridge Circuit is slightly shorter they'll need slightly less Marshalls.

In the past the refuelling has been done in the support race assembly area which would probably have caused problems using the Arena Circuit, but it's being done in the pits this year, so no problem there.

The new layout is longer and therefore needs more martials, that's what I've been told anyway.

Well not all of the grandstand will be open.. but if they are it's okay as far as I know. I do it every year (except last year !!)..

Just don't imagine that sleeping on the seats will be comfortable, because it isn't!

Just remember to sit in a grandstand in the infield, that way you will have commentary through the night. Th e ones on the outfield go silent around 10 pm. Remember to wrap up warm, and remember it's a long walk to the car parks so be equipped. Also pick up an hourly bulletin from race control so you can understand how the race is panning out.

I have heard rumours of Britcar sorting out Internet streaming for the race - any news on that?

Take a AM/FM radio to follow the race during the night as the PA is turned off late evening.
