GregUK should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Fanatec GT2 European Series 2021

This starts at Monza next weekend.

650bhp and less aero than GT3 - it should be fun.

Hans Stuck will be hoping for a wet race.

Stephane Ratel will want to get his R8 to the chequered flag.

Yes sounds fun, will it be live streamed like the Endurance challenge running?

How many entries?

I don't expect there will be a massive entry, just 13 cars at the moment, but it is being live-streamed.

Where can I find the entry list?

I'm still saying they should start a combined GT2/GT4 endurance series. The two categories make their laptimes in pretty much the same way, so they should race well together and it would help mask the current lack of entries for GT2.

Yes, I know that Ratel thinks that the GT2s are not designed for endurance, but the cars are already beginning to show up in endurance series such as Creventic and Belcar, so I guess it's not as much of a problem as it might seem.

I like your idea. In the same way the Blacpain Endurance series started with GT3 + GT4 in 2011, it was the resurgence of Ratel when the GT1 was dying.

I think the 47 GT4 cars for Monza this weekend argues that GT4 should be left well enough alone.

I do agree that GT2 would be well matched to multi class racing with GT4 though.

I think long term having both the rebellion series and the GT2 series won’t make sense, they will merge im sure

Eh, I know that Max Braams and Stephane Ratel have been toying with the idea of a GT4 endurance series for at least a couple of years now. The combined GT2/4 series that I have in mind would be an addition to regular GT4 not a replacement.

Interested to see how it goes, the uptake on GT2 has been very modest.

It still makes total sense to have this formula to cover off concerns over GT3 although I personally don’t think GT3 is going anywhere too fast.

Maybe the bigger competitor to GT2 is LMP3, which is still pretty booming

Not sure why they didn’t continue to allow bronze drivers in GT3/GTE cars like the GT Sports Club.

Tbh I’m beginning to wonder if this is the beginning of the end for GT3.

a GT class begins to die when chassis price reaches or gets closer to 1mln€ and as consequence of that none but few teams are interested to run, as long GT3 prices and maintenance costs will remain stable there still will be a lot of pro/am and am lineups, that is basically the main core of gt3 business.

Ratel himself is driving in the race?

How many Porsches were built for the class, and only one is racing.

And Sofronas has at least 5 in the US with his cars and a couple they run for owners. But that's been the claim, whether they do run or not I have not seen.

Did I dream this or is there really going to be a Brabham BT62 evo coming into the series shortly?
