Le Mans 2005 - "Test Day" week-end thread
This one is dedicated to the week-end to come :
- weather forecasts - timing and scoring - schedules - meetings - news from the spot Keep on posting in the Le Mans 2005 thread for things linked to the race/entries, etc... And notice the new name :"test day" - and not "preliminaries" anymore... Last edited by Fab; 1 Jun 2005 at 05:57. |

Let's start with the weather...
Friday : summer showers in the morning alternating with sun, then possible storms in the afternoon Saturday/Sunday : not confirmed yet, but possibly scattered to good/dry and sunny. Expect 22/24°C on the spot, until further notice (I'll check today). Check : overcast more than scatered on saturday, but still dry... Last edited by Fab; 1 Jun 2005 at 05:23. |

Fab, there's a little problem with the informations in this PDF. Look, on Tuesday June 7th, the LM P1 would still go for testing when the pitwalk would begin. I don't think that pedestrians would be allowed in the pits during the test sessions.
ACO has confirmed to me that the P1 & P2 session will end at 6:15 PM and the pitwalk will start at 6:30 until 7:30. |

But overcast (no sun) on sunday, turning to rain in the afternoon !!! We've got rain coming from west, and a serious front... Oh no ! Last edited by Fab; 2 Jun 2005 at 05:17. |

It will be a special day for RfH this Friday -- The team has developed a new suspsension system that, as far as I know, has never been fitted to a prototype. I would love to see the faces of the ACO at scruteneering! Link to some pictures and more details.

Does anyone know if Radio LeMans will be operational for the test weekend?
How about any live timing/scoring? |

a coffee will be a good thing, but I just hope paddock bar is open at 8h30 (it used to be closed or open very late past years IIRC )

Should be a great weekend....
I'm interested in seeing how the Hybrids run in P1, and the new Lolas in P2... |

Looking at the pics on infocourse, both Champion cars have high downforce bodywork on. Double dive planes at the front and a full set of louvers on the front fenders. I am sure that is how they shipped them, but then again the rear wing has already been changed. Just thought it was interesting. Oreca already had the more traditional Le Mans bodywork on.

The AM were nowhere to be seen, the lorries arriving quite late - and with some parking difficulties to cram the enormous trailers in an overcrowded paddock...

Well that's different from the infocourse pics. Thanks Fab. Looks like the cars were shipped over with the mid-ohio body work on and were probably in the process of being changed over. The pics you posted are what I was looking for. Thanks!
