ESTC at Donington this year?

Odd one this in a recent bit of junk mail from Donington one of the meetings was the Italian F3000 series in August and listed in the support races were European Super Touring Cars!

Is this really true?

I had a quick peak at the ESTC site and it didn't mention it there. I presume Donington are wrong can anyone confirm this?

I've e-mailed the ESTC and Donington to try to get to the bottom of this but no luck so far.

Surely one of you trainspotters must know something?

There was a round planned for this sesason in the provisional calender, but they changed there mind in the second calender. The good news is that next year there will be a estc race at donigton on the same weekend as the FIA GT. This is a new package called the 'Eurosport Super Racing Weekends'. More good news is that qualifying and races for the ESTC and FIA GT will be broadcast LIVE on Eurosport!!!!!!!

Here's another ESTC question - why according to their websites schedule do they not have any races in August?

Because unlike the UK and USA, a lot of europe takes a holiday in August. There is one country which appears to shut down completely from about now until September. I guess they concentrate on thier pasta farms.
