Camping options for Bathurst 2023
Hello
I am travelling from the UK for the 1000 this year. Does anyone know of any "glamping" options for the race this year. Or is there a bus from Sydney on race morning? |

I have never noticed glamping options at the 1000 unlike the 12 Hour. Sorry to be negative but it is not really a public transport accessible event and there aren’t a big range of available accommodation options.Maybe rent a car and buy some basic camping gear or look at accommodation in nearby towns and drive although guessing that everything is both booked out and way overpriced. |

Alan52 is right, run out from Sydney by bus would be 3.5 hours or more, assuming that you can get onto one.
There ARE other accommodations options, such as renting houses or rooms in houses - be worth contacting the Bathurst Visitors Centre about that - it coordinates a wide range of bookings and accomm types. Also worth exploring what Supercars has to offer on their camping page for the event. Hope you find something you like - worth spending the time there to really appreciate the place! |

Yeah, no. Stay at/near the circuit, you will probably pay more/have to rough it, but it will be worth it - you are spending megabucks to get here, don't scrimp on the last bit. And it will add flavour to the stories you tell when you get back home ... speaking as someone who spent a wet 5 days camping at La Sarthe once many years ago.
Can't speak for the tintops, but the 12hr pits/paddock is a goldmine for the speccie and that means staying late/getting up early. |

Looks like you are prepared to camp, but I dont think you will find luxury versions anywhere close by.
Spend some money on good camp gear or secure a motorhome (Britz / Apollo) for the week of the event and book a site. If glamping was preferred you will likely want to at least secure a powered site so that rules out camping up top of the mountain. Maybe look at the areas behind the pits or along Conrod down to the Chase area. |

We stayed in an AirBnB in Bathurst, 5 minutes drive from the circuit. Reasonable price, basic but comfortable. Bathurst itself is quite a nice town.

Agreed Bathurst is very nice.
I'll just add though....camping anywhere around the circuit is part of the adventure, lots of great people, all there for the same thing (mostly!) I cant wait to do it again. |
