2013 Regulations question
Greetings gents,
Infrequent visitor to your corner of the world here, in search of some references/ links. A very good authority told me that the proposed device for regulating fuel flow has not in fact been constructed or tested. Such a device is being contemplated for use in IndyCar as a means of establishing power output equivalency for different engine platforms. Can anyone direct me to more information on this topic? I'd like to learn if this method of establishing equivalency has advanced beyond the theoretical stage. Thanks in advance. |

hi Jag
If you specify the injector sizes and maximum fuel pressure, you will have specified maximum fuel flow. |

Hi wnut,
I suppose for equivalency on different engines ( and injectors) it could be as simple as a pressure regulator with a specified outlet orifice for each engine. The indication I got was that something more abstract was being debated. |

Yup Jag that is the way any rational human would do it, but I suppose it precludes paying one of your mates a gazillion dollars to do it some other massively complex way.
