From Formula1.com:
Friday is expected to be partly cloudy with temperatures of 73 degrees Fahrenheit. For Saturday and Sunday, however, it looks like stormy weather is on the horizon. Saturday practice and qualifying may well take place during thunderstorms, which could prove dangerous given the newness of the track and its speedy characteristics. Sunday can also expect rain, which should please team boss, Frank Williams, who has said he would like it to rain so that American fans can truly experience the skill of the Formula1 driver. hehehe...I am not going to be there, so let it pour!!! Those who are going to the race have my sympathies, it is not the nicest experience being huddled in a grandstand during pouring rain. This will (hopefully) be the first time that there has ever been racing in the rain at Indy. They have had cars on the track during rainy conditions in 1935 and 1940, but never racing! |

I JUST HOPE THERE WILL NOT BE ANY PRANGS. This will be very interesting if it rains, especially if it goes from wet to dry or vice versa, Jay.

I pray for rain each race, and news like this lifts my spirit. However, I have become wary of forecasts that are made a week in advance.

Man I was excited just because it was a 'new' track and I was getting to watch practice, qualifying and the race on my friend's 36" HDTV. Now they're talking rain too! Whoa! My heartrate won't come down till Monday!

No, I'm hoping there won't be rain (for once). This is a new track, and I fear rain would make it very dangerous, as stated in Jay's quote. Let it be dry is my prayer.

It will certainly make it interesting; I think its safe to say that the advantage swings to TGF.

EERO, you are not the only one given to obscure movie references. |

D@MN!!!!
I was hoping for a good race. I guess this will give the champioship lead to TGF. I will think of ya'll when I am sloshing around in the rain with a few too many beers on the brain. I guess that fresh coat of paint on the outside of Indy turn 1 was wasted. |

hehehe...
Gortex is good. However if the forcast is iffy, I would recommend one of those pocket ponchos. It has poured in the past 2 races I have attended , and one usually just gets so enthrawled in the racing that you even forget that your wet. (Unless rude pilots come by and splash you on their scooters) Enjoy the rain! |

Let it rain let it rain let it rain
Well if it does rain, atleast the americans will see that F1 cars will still race on superovals even if it rains!!
Ok there not racing on the whole oval, but they won't cancel the race. the only bad thing about the rain in indy is, im a Jacques Villeneuve fan and hes not known for his talent in wet! Unlike his father who was a master in rain(what a pleasure to watch).Maybe Jacques got his mothers side on that one. |

Actually, so far this year Jacques has been quite fast in the rain. He was lapping faster than any other car in Canada in the wet, then he got caught behing a train of cars and made a stupid move. He went well in the wet at Nurburgring too, until his car failed. According to Jacques, he is actually faster in the rain than the dry.
Problem with Jacks seems to be his "Stupid moves in the wet" |
