OEKC - the 'run what ya brung' Kart endurance series

As we've been discussing the Club100 and COVKARTSPORT arrive n drive championships recently it only seems fair to mention some other good routes into karting for people. The OPEN Endurance Karting Championship is a really good way for new or exisiting Karters to make use of their equipment whatever the class. Basically it employs a handicapping system so whether you are in a 14hp Prokart 4 stroke , a 20hp TKM, a Rotax Max, or even a Biland theres a chance for you to race against other teams. The other good thing is you can pool the cost with your mates, so that a few of you could get together and purchase a Prokart say (prices usually from around £350/400 upwards) and have a chance of overall victory against Max's, Bilands etc

They have just released their 2011 dates - looking at the cost, spread between a team of drivers you really get a lot of seat time for your money.

In addition to owner drivers racing, full race karts are available to hire too

No race licence is required

Cost is less than £42 per hour to get racing in the Fastest Endurance Series in UK. ( £185 per team per race )

First race the O plate is on February 6th 2011

Great stuff, thats amazing value, especially as it doesnt require an MSA licence. So will the organisers consider entries from classes not already listed? ie World Formulas, TKM 100s, even old 100s (if you were made enough)!

Looks a very good way for a few people to club together and go endurance racing at a very reasonable cost anyway, thanks for the info.
