Dr. Austin : how do you store all your models, I am running out of space in my plexiglass cabinet over 50.
do you make your own or buy it from a supplier. Last edited by jc2002; 9 Apr 2002 at 22:44. |

jc2002, Ikea here in the UK do a nice glass top coffee table with a draw underneath, this allows you to place i would think upto a hundred models if you arrange them well, and they look good.
I can't remember if you have Ikea in the States (or similar shops), it's a number of years since i was across your part of the world. |

I also had a few cases made from Oak before a friend of mine retired from cabinet making. You will just have to look around and hopefully find someone local/ Shipping big cases really costs a bunch. Here is the oak case which is use to house mt handbuilt Porsches |

And I needed a giant case for all the misc Porsche dicasts, so my builder made two to hang together. He was afraid the sheer weight of a big case would pull the glue joints apart. So far, no problem.

We have quite a few cars from Onynx (100+) so I made shelves out of pine tongue and groove planking. The 'tongue' makes a nice edging.
The only problem I have is that the washing machine is on the other side of the wall so, once a month or so, we have to push all the boxes back on the shelf (really I should blue tack them down). |
