WRX Round 1 - Montalegre

So, the entry list is up on www.rallycross.com and it looks decent compared to recent years at Montalegre. Shame that Touring Car entry is poor. RX Lites have good numbers for first round.

Who will win? I think Solberg will take it.

Also, it seems the event counts as the following, WRX R1 (Supercar) and ERX R1 (S1600 & TC). So, is it not the ERX Round 1 for Supercar? I thought I understood the divide, but clearly not! Does the ERX R1 not start until Lydden?

All 9 rounds in Europe count for ERX of S1600s and TCs.
Only 5 rounds in Europe (UK, N, B, D, I) count for ERX of SCs.

Cheers Guru. That should mean the numbers are bolstered for lydden. Should have just made all European rounds count for Supercars to make numbers better.

Solberg was very quick at Montalegre last year, so I hope he can kick 2014 off with a win.

...if he doesn't jump the start.

Friday will be a SuperCars parade from the circuit to the castle in the middle of the town, and a WRXC introduction, could be interesting.

What a shame the coincidence with the FRC/RCE round, some more drivers could be here, like the Paillers.

For anyone who hasn't had the E-mail, the Round 1 livestream is shown as starting at 10:00 AM EDT (which I believe is 3 PM for those of us in the UK).

Helpfully the link in the aforementioned E-mail leads to a dead page, but I found the World Rallycross Championship on Livestream here:

http://new.livestream.com/fiaworldrallycross

The Livestream player is still embedded in the RallycrossRX page as well, so I assume it be watchable there on Sunday:

Yes thanks

Its the same team that did the BRC event at Lydden.

Hopefully they tap into commentary this time, though I dont mind pure sound!

Will we be able to watch the livestream in the UK? Thought there were restrictions on it this year?

In contrast to last year we have live TV coverage in The Netherlands.
Couple days ago I tried the livestream link but got a message not available in your country. So if the UK has live coverage (British Eurosport?) than the stream will not work.

That's what I feared... hopefully be able to find a Eurosport stream somewhere!

But not the whole champinship.
He is to wild and hard on the cars , breaking it to often.
My Money is on Heikkinen , Timmy Hansen or maybe some outsider.

Damn, I hadn't read that. I hope not as I enjoyed the livestream last year.

I would like to see Solberg take the title this year, but have to agree that his all-or-nothing style isn't likely to produce consistent results. Hopefully the car will be more reliable this year though, so at the very least he takes a win or two.

Timmy Hansen certainly showed promise last year and he had a couple of bits of bad luck that put him out of the running. Bakkerud seemed to find form in the latter half of the season, I wonder if he can continue to extract that behind the wheel of a Ford?

Not long until we find out now!

You will not be able to watch the live strem in the UK

You will seemingly ONLY be able to watch it on Eurosport

Quite why they think people are going to subscribe to SKY for a 2 hour programme about 7 times a year is beyond me.

but this is modern sport and there are countless ways to avoid this rubbish as seen above.

Eurosport player is £3.99 a month for all devices, can cancel any time time.

Prefer that to paying sky 5.50 a month.

Or live media player for those that own tablets then £2.50 gets rid of ads

Or http://www.wiziwig.tv/broadcast.php?...38&part=sports
