Truck Series Daytona
Easily regarded as the tough KickA series in NASCAR now the fight has begun
The top 4 trucks in Quali are Ford, Dodge, Chevy, Toyota! each one is on it- and Toyota has come out swinging. Is it trouble? I am on the Nascar forum so often i should be a moderator, bah. does any one ever read this? we should get a link to another few pages... |

Totoyta seem to be intergrating to NASCAR quite well, and vice versa, bar a little racism! |

The Toyotas didn't qualify as well as I would have expected. It's hard saying how they will run during the actual race. I think the Dodge's will still be the trucks to beat this season. I'm gonna take a odd pick and go with Randy LaJoie to win the Daytona race. The #59 truck usually runs pretty good and LaJoie knows how to win at Daytona.

Tundra's qualified 3rd and 8th in the race and the rest qualified between 11th and 17th. So either most of the Toyota teams decided to sandbag and qualify midpack or something is slightly off with the trucks. From all the talk it would seem like the 7 Toyotas swept the top 7 qualifing spots. There is also the matter of how they will handle under actual race conditions. I'll wait until the race and if the Toyotas do well, I'll eat my words. But I think the American manufacturers, especially Chevy and Dodge, will step up and put up a good fight. And the Roush trucks look good. The truck series probally has the most drivers in it that are capable of winning on any given weekend. So hopefully the series won't become a Toyota parade and the racing stays as good as it has been.

the toyotas in the back (or mid pack rather) were driven by some well not top teir guys. The front runners of the race to begin were the usual contenders anyway so this is not really surprising, when was the last time Bill Lester got pole in factory Dodge effort last year? no real excuse not to have gotten it, but he didn't do poorly, just not as well as a factory effort should indicate, and well he was in a toyota- and it wasn't 3rd...
