I am preparing an 1964 E-Type Jaguar for vintage race in California. The FIA homologation papers for E-Types prior to 1967 will help clarify what preperations are acceptable. Can anyone help me in obtaining this information?

You can get copy of original homologation from your national MSA which is affiliated with the FIA. For the USA this is either the AAA or the ACCUS. Keep in mind that the FIA class F ends 31.12.1965, so only homologations up to this deadline are allowed.
The full FIA Appendix K regulations you can find at http://www.fia.com/regle/annexe_K/Appendix-K.htm E-Types are often basis of technical discussions in historic motorsport, so take care about the special exceptions for this car listed in appendix VII. |

What a good answer Michael,
E types owners have got many scrutineering problems so be carefull and don't hesitate to ask the FIA for any questions, they always answer. |

Michael--
Much appreciate your responce (please see e-mail). I am not sure of the short forms of AAA and ACCUS. I did follow your referal to the FIA web site in particular Appendix K. That is very helpful. I wish to run a 5 speed, not necessarily for racing but for streetabilty, this may give me the excuse. I will say in my limited experience: certian modifications do not lesson the "spirit" of the vehicle, but allow for a comfortable road enjoyment. I.E. the ease of use of the vehicle in non-competive venues while not unfairly increasing the competiveness of the actual vehicle in vintage race. I would hope this could be recognized.
