What will be interesting is to see how some drivers react to what happened at Northampton on Saturday. Junior Wianmann, Andy Smith and Murray Harrison all missed their heat and had to qualify in the consolation. The reason was that the organisers were running to a tight schedule and have to finish by 10pm (curfew). 322 James Neachell had a good night bagging a heat and final double, whilst 92 Simon Brooke was very impressive with his wingless car. 212 Wainmann senior went very well in the final bagging fifth and he missed the GN, saving his car for Wimbledon.

Disappointing that there were a lot of non starters, but the racing was still good.

I was a bit disappointed by the F1 turnout, although the carnage in the 2ltr stockers more than made up for it. Shame to see Wainman Snr go out in the last race though.

Just out of interest, what is the procedure with bookings nowadays. It used to be you got fined if you did not turn up without giving a reasonable excuse. A lot of names that survived Saturday night just didn't show, although I did see the Neachalls in the pits explaining their lorry was without air and could not unload their cars.
