2014 Bet 'Em IndyContest - rounds 13 & 14 Toronto
Hi, folks! Welcome to round 11 of the Bet 'Em IndyContest. Doubleheaders at street courses are double chaos. Turn 3 of Toronto isn't the only place to expect tangles and spins.
You must pick four different drivers and a manufacturer: o- Winner ($ 1,000) - o- Podium ($ 300) - o- Top 10 ($ 50) - o- Belt Challenge ($ 100) - Kanaan or Hunter-Reay. o- Winning manufacturer ($ 100) - Chevrolet or Honda. The stakes for Toronto are: o- 3 to 1: Castroneves, Power, Hunter-Reay, Pagenaud. o- 6 to 1: Dixon, Andretti, Montoya, Muñoz. o- 10 to 1: Briscoe, Wilson, Kanaan. o- 20 to 1: Bourdais, Hinchcliffe, Conway. o- 40 to 1: Aleshin, Newgarden, Kimball, Hawksworth. o- 80 to 1: Rahal, Saavedra, Huertas, Sato. o- Chevy: 3 to 1. o- Honda: 3 to 1. If you post your bets after qualifying begins, you will get only half the earnings. Also, please avoid nicknames and abbreviations like Hinch, RHR or Chevy. Good luck! |

So, here's the results of the 2014 Indy Toronto race 1:
o- Winner ($ 1,000) - Bourdais (20 to 1) o- Podium ($ 300) - Bourdais (20 to 1), Castroneves (3 to 1), Kanaan (10 to 1). o- Top 10 ($ 50) - Pagenaud (3 to 1), Dixon (6 to 1), Rahal (80 to 1), Kimball (40 to 1), Hinchcliffe (20 to 1), Power (3 to 1), Wilson (10 to 1). o- Belt Challenge ($ 100) - Kanaan (10 to 1). o- Winning manufacturer ($ 100) - Chevrolet (3 to 1). Nobody chose Bourdais for the win, but WAT picked him for the podium and cashed $ 6,000. For the top 10, WAT and Gomick got $ $4,000 for choosing Rahal for the top 10; Icemachine got $ 2,000 for choosing Kimball; DRT and NaBUru38 also got $ 2,000 for choosing Wilson. Skells22, Teretonga and WAT received $ 1,000 for selecting Kanaan for the Belt Challenge. Six betters earned $ 300 for picking Chevrolet for the win. Here's the results of round 11 Toronto race 1: 1st - WAT: 0 + 6,000 + 4,000 + 1,000 + 300 = $ 11,300 2nd - Gomick: 0 + 0 + 4,000 + 0 + 300 = $ 4,300 3rd - Icemachine: 0 + 0 + 2,000 + 0 + 300 = $ 2,300 4th - NaBUru38: 0 + 0 + 2,000 + 0 + 0 = $ 2,000 5th - DRT: 0 + 0 + 2,000 + 0 + 0 = $ 2,000 6th - Teretonga: 0 + 0 + 0 + 1,000 + 300 = $ 1,300 7th - Skells22: 0 + 0 + 0 + 1,000 + 0 = $ 1,000 8th - Salamus: 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 300 = $ 300 9th - MTAR: 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 300 = $ 300 10th - Marcostraz: 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 = $ 0 11th - Burp: 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 = $ 0 WAT reigned in the rain and took a dominating win. Gomick and Icemachine completed the podium with two hits. NaBUru38 and DRT cimpleted the top 5. THis time, Marcostraz and Burp got their wallets flushed in the storm drain. |

Thanks!
I'm thinking about changing the format for 2015, where you pick three drivers and any top 10 finish gets you money. The system would give more money the better your driver performs, and will still have stakes. But I must make sure that I need less calculations! |

I really enjoy doing these, thanks for your hard work setting them up and working it all out.
A suggestion for next year if your thinking of 3 drivers to pick. Why not have 3 groups of drivers. (Front runners, mid pack regualrs and Saavedra ) and make everyone choose 1 driver from each group for a race weekend. For example: Dixon Kimball Huertas or Pagenaud Wilson Rahal |

What??? You just completely ignored my bet???
Sorry I don't get it, I know I'm not full season entry but have played this before and IIRC you said bets can be made at any stage, unless I've missed something. |

It's probably just an error, don't worry. Happened to me a few races ago, but then Naburu fixed it quickly once I pointed it out to him

Oops!
On race one, you missed the five bets and got no money. On race two, you got $ 20,000 for picking Conway for the win. Therefore, you won the race two too! Your season earnings are $ 23,700, so you rank 9th. |

Thanks!
I guess when I've only done Indy+Toronto and have over half the points of the full season points leader I should be glad |
