No one did anything to deserve it, really.

My vote goes to Monteiro. Despite everything he still took the chance to celebrate his moment on the podium, yes I know it wasn't a "true" position but at least he got to spray the champagne.

I don't believe we should even crown one. Noone did anything but just rolling the car home.

For me the driver of the farce (you misspelled it) was Monteiro, for beating both Minardis and his team mate. Sad for him how the podium ceremony went.

The guy interviewed on ITV who'd driven nine and a half hours from Washington.
Showed a dedication an commitment to the sport sadly lacking in others. |

The fat guy in Michelin's logo. He's by far the man of the race...

You got to feel for the guy, his happiest day in F1 (most likely) when its one of the most depressing days in F1 history.

Has to be Monteiro - They may not have been pushing too hard but he was a lot quicker than any of the other non-Ferraris... the others just didn't seem to have it under control as much.

D.R.T - it's like Nicola Larini in the '94 San Marino GP all over again - got the result of his life in a Ferrari, of all cars, but couldn't celebrate because F1 had just then lost Senna and Ratzenberger in one weekend...
I wonder what the reaction would have been like if Ten-Tenths had existed back then... |

My driver of the race would have to be Trulli. He drove a cracking parade lap. Wish I could find out how much fuel he actually had. |

First thing I'd like to say is well done to Jordan and Minardi for getting all their cars to the finish. With Jordan and Minardi retirements it could have been even more of a farce....
Driver of the race would have to be Monteiro for winning the 'others' race. |

I think all six starters deserve credit for not missing their grid slots or stalling their cars in the confusion at the end of the parade lap.

The race was a farce, but the best driver at Indy was Monteiro, followed by Albers and Friesacher (because both Minardi drivers took care of their cars and finished the race).

The tv stations will have to prepare for much longer press conferences if Monteiro is ever going to be a regular on the podium.... He talked more than Kimi and Nick together.. ever

Has to be Monteiro. The Ferraris weren't racing anyone else other than themselves. Tiago had to race other cars (albeit Minardis). Plus he got the better of his team mate and appeared to be the only driver of "the other 4" that was not ragged and locking wheels.
Michael comes in second for reeling in Rubens after that slow pitstop. |

It's a minor issue in a day of utter nonsense, but is it any wonder Rubens gets ****ed off with Michael and the team when he has to back off after second stop but Michael is free to pass him on the final lap at monaco?
I hope Rubens gets a drive somewhere else soon and has a DC-esque renaissance. Ferrari treat him like a chump. |

Good on the Jordans and Minardis for racing... I hope they got plenty of press coverage, and teev time... and that the income from the points positions will help fund better race cars next season. |
