Dream Comebacks?
With the return of 'Mad Mark Watson' after a several year layoff, I was wondering who would you like to see making a comeback.
For me it has to be Martin Tinker, maybe driving the ex Evans Micra, or John Haffey back in his old Escort. Who would you like to see return? |

For me it would have to be Tony Bardy! Best driver of a non supercar would love to see him in a full blown ERC spec Div1 supercar"Awesome" A Bit of topic but Wouldnt mind Mr Julian Godfrey stepping up into Supercars served his apprenticeship in stockhatch,With his contacts he should be top driver! Imagine Schance built car Godfrey engine what a combination....

I would like to see them all... But I really tought that Martin Iversen would have the funds to stay in Rallycross. Or how about PEKA racing which was run by Paul Kumpen (father of Sophie Kumpen, whom is later married to Jos Verstappen)... Alamaki would be great but he is a driver not a builder like Schanche so he needs to buy some competitive material... Maybe a rent off in the 2nd Xsara of Bermingrud?

Good question, unrealistic retunees Keith Ripp, Tony Drummond, John Welch, John Greasley, and of course Martin Schanche or Jan De Rooy.
Drivers that i reckon may return one day, Mark Rennison, Richard Hutton, Trevor Reeves, Tony Bardy. I did notice Matti Alamaki seemed to be competing often in the Finnish rallycross series, how good would it be if he returned to the ERC. |

Schanche astra
The ex Schanche Astra went to Mr Glen.A. Voie he had a few unsuccesful years with it and then was sold on to Harald Sachwach currently competing in th ERC.Martin is still doing his bit for rallycross by assisting in the developing of Thomas Radstroms Hyundi. Schanche modified the Gearbox i beleave.

Yes Martin is putting in his MSR gearbox and this will involve of turning the engine of the Hyundai into north / south which is more reliable in a 4wd than east / west... But he is also involved in trying out turbo's etc to make the best combination...
I do believe that Evans Astra is now one of the best of the Astra's around... |

Haralds sachweh's car is a quick car but it just dosnt ever seem to be on the pace, its either there or its no where near the front. Did voie run that in a Orange livery ? (he smacked the front of it hard one time into a concrete crash barrier, or am i thinking of a different car ?) Evan's car was a very quick car even before it had its big rebuild, as i was saying before it has always been a really quick car, but was never that reliable. Anyway back on topic Didnt Johnny Milner do rallycross before "the good ol rally days" ? |

How about Kev the Rev. Him winning back at Croft with no brakes was great. As for Tinker I am always asking him when, but we would not come back in a stock hatch and says you need real money to up. For those who know Tinker he didn't like to put his hands in his pockets to often.

For me it would be two guys, Roger Newbould in the Renaoult just as it was when he stopped racing.
And Mark Rennison of course, the smoothest most accomplished driver this country has ever produced in rallycross! |

Squeeky Jonny started in Rallycross a good few years ago and was damn quick in his little 205, he still talks about how he enjoyed his rallycross exploits, would be great to see him behind the wheel of a rallycross car again.
Another person I'd like to see out is Clive Richardson, but only in a Nova. |

Voie and Crash barrier
The incident with the crash Barrier was in Holland in the ERC Voie was gently helped on his way to the Concrete crash barrier just after the start of C or B final i think! big front end damage final nail in the coffin. He was supposed to be the next big driver from Norway but sadly Money was the deciding factor, also the fact Isachsen was getting better and better ........
