Lamborghini Murcielago RGT LM
http://www.lambocars.com/updates.htm
"This week I was invited by Reiter Engineering to attend their testing session on the Salzburg Ring in Austria, one of the cars they tested was the 2007 model of the Murciélago R-GT, now called the 'Le Mans' edition, featuring a modified bodywork, even lower ride height and a rear wing with less drag ... finished in dark grey this truly is an amazing Lamborghini." http://www.racingworld.it/fiagt/noti...?idtitolo=2787 |

Personally i believe that should be the kind of thing reacing for top honours at Le Mans, not those covered up F1 cars.
I hope Lambo, and the teams that will run the car make it more competative with the other cars in its class. |

yeah the car that raced at le mans didnt seem as loud as the car that ran in FIA GT at silverstone, they didnt seem to rev it as much either, although the italians are knowing for putting noise ahead of relability, unlike the japanese!

Crikey, fabulous.
So is this going to mean a more consistent GT effort and possibly another car in FIA GT as well? BTW, for a moment when I saw the 3rd picture on the right in your first post mirkob, I thought it looked like the original 911 GT1!! |

Am I to understand correctly that JLOC actually has 3 Murcielagos? The report states that the Le Mans car has only ever been used at Le Mans and 1 JLMC round.
Yet JLOC runs two Murcielago RG-1s (tuned R-GTs specifically for SuperGT) in SuperGT right now. In fact, there's two entered for the next race on June 24th in Sepang. So they have 3 cars? Plus 2 Gallardos as well? Certainly doesn't sound like a lack of funds to me... |

Perhaps they will buy the updates now that the car is in Europe ? Could probably fit them prior to LM if the car is given to Reiter for a couple of days!!

I think the 'Dams' car (Scream sponsored) was in leasing/rent from Reiter: so at the end of 2004 it returned to Reiter

: REITER ENGINEERING GT1 LE MANS NEWSLETTER ::
01/2007 - 02.06.2007 24h Le Mans: Patience and steadiness Even this attributes characterize the misson of JLOC for Le Mans. Since the early 70´s the Japanese team has a steady connection with the Italian maufacturer in racing business. 2007 they can celebrate again an entry for the 24 hours at the Sarthe. But this time, JLOC acomplish their effort in their own response, but uses two constants from last year. First, the driver line up will stay the same. Marco Apicella, Koji Yamanishi und Yasutoka Hinoi will share the steering wheel of the JLOC Lamborghini Murciélago R-GT. Also no changes with the used racing car. The GT1 Lamborghini Murciélago R-GT passed through the Le Mans pre tests and the race iitself n 2006, but unluckily had to retire after a little bit more than 22 hours with an engine failure. Directly after the event, the chassis had been shipped to Japan, to take part in the Okayama race of the Japan Le Mans Series. Pole Position and GT1 class win was the result of the effort. And it was still the same package like in Le Mans! Now JLOC heads back to Le Mans, where the pre test sessions will go ahead this weekend. The team will count on the resistence of the Murciélago, which has raced the pre tests and race 2006 and the JLMC race without revision of the package. If the car will succed in this years race and finish after 24 hours, it will have nearly 14.000 km at the tachometer. Reiter Engineering wishes JLOC a successfull 24 hours of Le Mans! |
