So what exactly is HRT F1 Team?
Kolles gone. One presumably thinks the cars, infrastructure and staff have gone with him.
No engine deal. No real drivers to speak of. Okay DLR has some sort of contract, but whatevs. No sponsors. No base. Somewhere inbetween their previous base and their so-called new base in Spain. A meaningless name. Used to be Hispania Racing F1 Team, but new owners changed it specifically to HRT F1 Team for some reason, removing the roots it actually wanted in spain - so what does HRT F1 Team actually mean? Apart from all this, where the hell is Kolles going with all of his gear and staff? Where is this going? What is next for all the parties concerned? |

Colin Kollles could have a number of possibles in GT, prototypes or DTM?
I suspect he may have something in the background but is not ready yet. Do we know who terminated the agreement with HRT was it Kolles or HRT? |

has all the staff gone with CK, its always going to be tough for hrt, all the new teams have big backers whereas hrt obviously headed by a businessman with no motorsports business sense!
tbh it may have previously had a spanish name, obviously but its not lost its identity anyway, i mean i quite like the simple chequered flag colour scheme, looks diabolical on tv though but i see nowhere were it has a prominent spanish flag on it like ferrari has an italian flag for their's, they have a long way to go before anyone truly associates them as a spanish team, who's going to get the second seat, there's plenty of up and coming spanish drivers around but will they get picked? |

A number of months back, I read somewhere (Autosport maybe?) that Kolles was planning to leave anyway and was just getting HRT in order in advance. He was being linked with a role with McLaren or Renault - it was with one fo the top teams but who it was escapes me.

One could speculate that the "T" of HRT F1 could be used for Thesan Capital... |

It's a skeleton kit-car team with a revolving door of management. Needs to stabilise sooner rather than later if its to survive. You wonder whether they'll appear at Melbourne. They've defied the odds before I suppose.

HRT might be using last years car for the start of next season as their new one will not be ready in time. The complication with this is that a lot of parts on the car are lifed and new ones will have to be made for the old car. As most of F1's suppliers are very busy at this time of year it could lead to further delays.
http://joesaward.wordpress.com/ They probably should not bother with a new car and go for updates of the existing.(That's probably what the new one is anyway) |

What exactly is HRT F1 Team?
****, that's what. But they also take so much more abuse than Marussia yet have beaten them in the WCC both seasons out. They just don't have the fancy colors and a *swoon* GP2 champion on their team. Then again, they also don't have any kind of stable future, as highlighted by this thread, whereas Marussia might actually make it a few extra years past them. |

In light of Joe Sawards recent enlightening post from Valencia, I am quite happy to lay down some coin on HRT folding before P1 Melbourne. Think about it. No cars, no engine, one "driver", and an empty warehouse. "The Pride of Spain" - what a joke! They wont announce a second driver They wont announce an engine supplier ...Anyone remember USF1? They are GONE! They're just limping to keyboard to write the press release! |

With all this noise around HRT not having its technical plan together, it does bring some sense to reports that Mr Alguersuari perhaps doesnt wish to join them... A lot was made out of the uncompetitiveness of Minardi throughout their racing life.. but I dont recall as many 'courageous' operating decisions as have been demonstrated by the HRT 'management' Who knows... they may surprise us by showing up in Melbourne with a Renault powerplant in the tail of a brand new car |

Similar rumours were circulated for the past two seasons, and both times the team got to the first race by the skin of its teeth, and both previous seasons their car ran at a similar pace to the other new teams. Respect to them for that.
Surely though they cannot continue in this vein for ever though. There has to come a time when they finally get their act together or dissappear altoghether. Hopefully the former. |

Maybe but at least Marussia have a plan and have a person who is working for them who knows how to win world championships.
They look to be in a much better position than HRT right now. This is what Pat Symonds had to say at the Autosport show http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/97027 |

Isn't that a spy shot of the first 2012 chassis being delivered?
A picture of an early development prototype being tested has been released... Scale model.jpg |
