Brands Superprix
anyone else doing the Super Prix meeting this weekend? Electric I see there is a Turner racing on Saturday so you can see how they run firsthand! I am doing the Gentleman Drivers on Saturday and BRDC round on Sunday, I cannot wait as the GP circuit is serious fun!

Thanks dscwall.
The www.orwell-supersportscup.com website has got to be one of the best Motorsport sites around. I have bookmarked it before but it is now better than ever! If you want to see fast, noisy, powerful Can-Am cars back at Brands, get there this coming weekend! |

I might be there. The sound of the big bangers is always worth it. Probably only make Sunday though.
Simon what car are you racing Sunday ? Simon |

I'm also going on Sunday, is there a chance of a 10/tenths meet? Haven't seen the Can-Ams for a few years, hopefully the children will enjoy the noise as much as I did when I was their age.

the Can Ams are superb and to be honest much more thrilling at the BRDC 75th than Group C which was a bit of a damp squib.
I will be racing my Lotus Eleven in both races. Its easy to spot as its not painted and its the original body (carrying a fair number of dents!) I am 44 in the BRDC on Sunday |

Should be interesting to see what Simon and the other competitors think of the new Dingle Dell 'Sheene' section. Will be the first time cars have raced on it?

oopps forgot about that - so I guess I wont bother relearning the Autosport circuit guide for that corner!
it should be a lot more car friendly I think. Isnt it now pretty much straightline? before the kerbs punished the cars |

I think its a fairly tight right hander where the chicane was followed by a gentle curve to the right, almost a straight, leading to Strirlings.

I'll be there too. Hopefully meet a few of you over the weekend. Probably be in the Kentagon for breakfast both days, watch out for the red trainers unless it's persisting with rain, in which case they will be at home in the dry

I will be in the Gentleman Divers race on Saturday in the Cooper-Jaguar. Any tenth-tenthers feel free to come and say hello and drink tea etc. My transporter is cream and green and looks vaguely like a motorhome.

It would appear that this is a meeting for competitors only.
The only information on the Brands Hatch website is that there is a HSCC meeting on July 6th. No mention of any races on Saturday Time of first race Admission charges Classes of cars racing Availability of tickets or programmes in advance After attending the Sunday of the corresponding 2-day meeting a couple of years ago and finding that you couldn't buy a programme as they'd sold out on the Saturday, I think I'll give this one a miss. |

And the Historic Sports car Club website is no more informative.
I can't even find out if it's on the GP circuit or the Indy circuit. All I want to know is what time to get there to be sure of getting a programme, how much money to bring, and what type of cars I might see racing on Sunday. Sorry gentlemen, I would like to be there but not if I don't know what's going to be happening. |

Afraid I won't be going - after the disappointment of Snetterton (van broke down 8 miles from Carlisle) we did a sprint at Knockhill in the pouring rain - and wondered why we were so slow - turns out we bent a valve spring at Donington and hadn't yet realised.
With regard to the lack of advertising - never mind - just go - the Superprix is one of my favourite meetrings of the year, although I'm sad Dingle Dell has been emasculated - it was a true challenge, to my mind more so from the *gulp* factor point of view than Paddock hill |

I do agree that the HSCC website is not the best - however the latest newsletter from them says they are about to launch an updated website hopefully addressing these faults. As Yimkin says it is a great meeting. Saturday has great racing and the Wilkinshaw auction in the evening and then Sunday is sports car paradise with three consecutive races covering 50s through to late 70s. Hopefully the rain will stop and sun is forecast!

Wow, so many new ten-tenthers, pop into the Kentagon and say hi before the days starts (Saturday & Sunday). Peter Scillitoe will be the one looking like Clark Gable (not )
