Buddy Lazier positive about 2004

Buddy Lazier thinks things are looking good for next year. In this artice, he was asked what his plans were for next year. His response: "Go racing."

He added; "We're looking at a lot of opportunities right now, and we'll be back in a car for 2004." Makes you wonder who he's talking to? Panther Racing might be an option - Kelley Racing may also be looking to replace Little Al.

Personally, I can't help but think he's getting past his sell-by date. It was only a few of races ago that he caused two yellows by spining, apparantly by himself. Then again, he had no testing this year; which is only going to cause problems. Let's not forget he won the '96 Indy 500 with a broken back, not to mention the 2000 IndyCar Series Championship.

Where will Buddy be next year? I guess We'll just have to wait and see.

Ive only really started watching IRL this year but Lazier certainly didn't look like a former champion! He also had just about the worst behaviour when being lapped of any driver bar AJ Foyt IV

Buddy's championship success was only down to the weaker field in those days - remember that, not only had none of the CART teams converted, Brack and Stewart had jsut moved on, and Sam was a rookie. Against the current field, he sin't good enough, and never would've been. He barely made a blip in CART before the split.

I doubt he'd appeal to Kelley or Panther, when better drivers should be available - and at worst, yougner or better-funded ones.

Im a huge fan of Buddy's and would love to see him back , his 96 efforts at indy rate as one of my motorsport memory highlights.

in fact I have the 96 winning car model and it takes centre stage of all my models.

I think he deserves a chance again in a decent team to see what he can do as his career probably winds down.
but probably just me as a fan speaking.

I found the model at a market in Melbourne I was amazed to see it there as the IRL isnt that popular over here the price tag was $80 dollars but i managed to haggle the guy down to $60 because he just couldnt sell them.

I love it and think its simply awesome and after buddy's efforts in 96 he sure made a huge fan out of me.

I hope he gets a ride for 04
